I love this app, I've used it many times in the past for tracking habits. Just want to point out that its also open source and available on F-Droid. https://github.com/iSoron/uhabits

This is what I do. I have a agm m8 flip that I have at all times for calls and text. And I have a pixel running grapheneos that I use more like a laptop / when needed. Living without a smartphone isn't possible. But not using one

This feature isn't specifically to do with AI though is it? Unless I missed something (likely). My understanding was that it was about adding a "search with Kagi" thing to your site and triggering Kagi's indexer to index

Yeah, would like this too. Whatsapp added this recently and it is very convenient. You can link a companion device in the same manner you sign into WhatsApp web. A kind of hacky workaround (that I used to use for both signal, WhatsApp and o

I don't think this is the case. If you set your privacy to nobody and someone saves your phone number, to them it will appear that you do not have a signal account, even if they start chatting with you via your handle.

I was wondering about that too, I think the wording is just a little confusing. Further down it says: Selecting “Nobody” means that if someone enters your phone number on Signal, they will not be able to message or call you, or even see tha

I've tried various note taking / organising strategies in the past and nothing compares to pen and paper for me. I used to go through a lot of notepads as "scratch" work and would also lose things that I would like to lo

I've been wondering the same thing. I'd like to know exactly what this breaks. I haven't implemented a PWA and I'm not an apple user, so I may be missing context here. Though they seem like a great way to develop a simpl

What has changed here, it isn't very clear to me from the link. It sounds like webapps now will open the browser like a bookmark and not open full screen. PWAs are just websites right, so will they still work in the browser?

I used to attend a C++ meetup in my previous city, but since have moved. I sometimes think about setting something up in my new city. Do you have any advice for getting a meetup off the ground? I guess meetup is still the best thing to use

That's strange, I sometimes (once every few months) use teams with Firefox on Linux and it seems to work fine.

I recommended this on another HN thread last week. Probably my favourite book of all time. I'm almost due a reread.

I would say anything by Greg Egan! My favorite is probably Permutation City, followed by Diaspora. His stuff can get heavy though.

Yeah I totally agree, the surprises were great. I knew literally nothing except for the title and the author and that it could have something to do with space, as he wrote the Martian. I hadn't read any Andy Weir before, but someone re

I read it without any expectations and without knowing anything about the plot. It was just recommended to me by someone, but I'm usually into sci-fi, stuff like Greg Egan. I really enjoyed it, but maybe I would have been disappointed

The rest of the hail mary series?? Or Three Body? I have read two of the three body books, but I wasn't aware of a sequel to project hail mary, would be very excited if that's the case!

I read project hail Mary over Christmas, and they deal with this problem too. Though I can't say much without giving away spoilers. A great read if you are a sci-fi fan!

Yeah a lot of those nice things like random delays, back offs, evening using timezones are not available, even in the centos7 systemd.

I find it very useful. I'm not asking it to write code for me or anything. More like a quick way to look up syntax or flags for obscure programs I don't use too often.
