Good point. I think you can get them embedded in consumer devices for pretty cheap lately; I bought the Dylos about a decade ago.

A warning: the cheap air monitors don't monitor particle count, just CO2. If you're allergic to pollen you expose yourself to it by opening windows. I've had to help a couple friends who used this and ended up sneezing and sn

Humidity kicks dust mites into hyper breeding mode, so not great if you have a dust mite allergy. I like to keep my home dry.

I've had this before from dust mites. I was able to eliminate them from my small apartment with a dehumidifier and freezing my bedding plus occasional Claritin (loratadine), but immunotherapy is the ultimate way to address allergies. T

I agree with Elon Musk that immortality is actually not great, and would instead lead to a static dystopia. New generations need a chance to put their own stamp on the world.

If someone published a promising in vitro study, the mere fact that it was done and even the barest hint of a conclusion can dramatically impact one's decision to pursue that line of research. So I'm a bit skeptical that there

Miners suck money away from real batteries who would otherwise be smoothing out the peaks. It's not good for efficiency or climate change. People point to miners using up excessive hydro or geothermal capacity (Quebec and Iceland), but

I agree w/ you, but I'll also add that the premise that the evidence on diet is equivocal is pretty offbase. The evidence for EEN is pretty robust and held up over a couple dozen studies - see my other comment https://n

The idea that diet doesn't affect the disease is incorrect. We've known for a while (40 years now?) that exclusive enteral nutrition has an effect size on Crohn's (seems to be pretty strong) and it's even similar to pred

I think it helped a lot and I did a bit of a mini crossover trial where I did the enteral nutrition for a few weeks and then not. And yeah the elemental formula I tried is https://www.integrativepro.com/products/physici

IIRC studies have generally shown that elemental and polymeric formulas are similarly effective, but I agree that Soylent has some strange stuff that prolly wouldn't agree with me. I had a good experience with Ensure Plus (chocolate) w

I got Crohn's about the same age (34). A couple years later at 36 I'm now on better health than I've ever been. I responded well to a biologic (vedolizumab aka Entyvio). But I also did exclusive enteral nutrition for months c

The vast majority of miner profits come from "mining" new bitcoin, mostly using fossil fuels. These are then sold on the open market. There's a reason that in GAAP accounting, when a company issues new shares (dilution), it i
