I'm an iOS dev. We've had multiple rejections of our apps because we added a "promo code" button to the paywall, which literally displayed the Apple sanctioned code redemption sheet from StoreKit. Rejected because we &qu

With the Mustang and the F-150 Lightning I think Ford is in a pretty good position to become the leader in the EV space. I'm personally waiting for the F-150 as I could use a truck for hauling things to a retail store my wife and I own

Apple is already doing that with iOS and iPadOS. Apps are already taken down from the App Store in China at the request of the government.

Then your issue isn't with Apple's SSO, it is with all SSO providers. Facebook/Google login are not eternal. The only difference is the proxy, which can be disabled. Any website offering SSO options would have a sunset period

Charging money for software is perfectly fine. But marketing a "monthly" subscription but having a yearly lock-in is anti-consumer. My guess is you don't know about that part? If you subscribe to $9.99/mo photoshop you c

Any mobile dev can just setup firebase remote config and get a "dynamic feature flag" setup for free, with no backend experience required. Then add a few if statements, turn it off during your review period and back on when done.

I just think it is a different mindset from people who build things for other people, vs people who don't. If you build consumer facing software you have to have a level of empathy for the user, otherwise you are going to create a host

I'd also say that this past year was a bad example of remote. Of course remote isn't going to work for an org that is used to everyone in office up until March 2020. You break everyone out of so many habits - no more commute time,

This is exactly the problem. The app store being the only distribution method for iPad OS means that Apple controls everything that is possible on iPad OS. The problem is iPadOS drastically fails at simple tasks all the time - I wanted to p

After playing around with it for a bit I agree. The main improvement is actually using the homescreen as the app selector. Using spotlight was fine when you have a keyboard, but multitasking without a keyboard was pretty terrible on iOS 14.

> how they can update their software I agree on all your points except this one. The App Store update process has grown long in the tooth. It was fine for the first 5 years or so, then they added auto-update, great. But now 10 years in

All they need is a "look at your TV" step. User looks at TV, ATV saves AirPod gyro orientation and you are done. The iPhone/iPad need their orientation because the screen can move at any point...TV's usually don't.

To be honest I don't think it will really be that noticeable. It will be faster, but only slightly. The original 4k had an A10X, the new one has an A12. The A10X was the A10 with beefed up GPU, so on that front they are probably pretty

I replaced my i9 16” MBP with a 13” Air. Performance with Xcode is either the same or better on the Air. Battery life is the true game changer though. When I went out with the 16” I had to make sure I had 100% charge, if I wanted to use it

You are almost correct - it goes by the prior years income, but based on the 30% cut. Meaning if you sold 1m in products you would still be in the 15% bracket next year. You would need ~1.43m in sales to be "Moved up" the next yea
