Having been at FB as well as multiple startups that became unicorns, I can tell you the "high stress" at FB is nothing compared to startups. On a whole, FB is a great place to work with very solid WLB. My theory on the FB comments

The reason tech tends to compare vs FANG is that the "canonical" startup is founded by a Stanford or Harvard graduate and hires friends/employees exclusively from Stanford, Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, and MIT. This was certainl

This is out of date. At this point, many larger corp dev teams act like a recruiting team for acquisitions. They find leads and pass them to VPs

If you draw out your argument inductively, I think you'll find you proved the opposite of your claim. You get smaller and smaller houses until they cannot go smaller. Side note: smaller also translates into not affordable.

I'll second this one as a founder and early employee at a couple of the recent IPOs. The definition of "successful" here must be that the product and revenue succeeded, not that the team did well within the company. Otherwise

The problem with a wealth tax is the definition of wealthy. The delta between the 1% and the 0.1% is astronomically larger than the difference between the 99% and the 1%.

I agree they won't do it, but it isn't laughable. I've worked at another FANG and have used a lot of the recruitment software you reference. That FANG rebuilt the software from the ground up internally and have successfully m

There's no rudeness in my comment. I'd argue the tone is much softer than the original post. I agree that auto upgrades can cause enterprise nightmares, but my point is, you aren't using an enterprise product. You're usi

How does a SPAC indicate a bubble? They're an alternative to an IPO with very clear pros and cons relative to an IPO itself. Or do you mean to say the number of companies going public indicates a bubble?

Extremely rare. Taiwan and Hong Kong are very different places beyond both being ethnically Chinese. Singapore is the preferred alternative given cultural and business similarities.

I'll point you to Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, and Tokyo as counterexamples. All of those cities are 3-7x denser than LA, more populous, and culturally multigenerational. I think it's quite clear to anyone who's been payin

You should read the actual proposal. I think you have a few facts wrong. 1. Data sharing on app store downloads is now opt in. 2. Apple apps are exempt because they are managed by different settings. You cannot opt out. 3. FB and Apple bot

Apple is applying opt-in rules to everyone except themselves. You can't opt out of data collection for Apple apps and that data will power Apple ads. If this isn't anti competition I don't know what is.

I think the key here is that it's a bug in iOS, not in Instagram. So FB isn't even the responsible party. Additionally, it's a beta version of iOS, so we're supposed to be expecting bugs anyway.
