With respect to the 2020 election, I have wondered about the chain of custody of the ballots once separated from their envelope. In some regions boxes of ballots were transported to counting locations. Could someone swap out the entire cont

I find swap and memory usage in general confusing. On my Windows machine, Chrome is listed as using about 1GB of RAM and I have maybe 50 tabs open. Seems like a lot. I think it’s possible that Chrome creates 50 processes and that the memory

Wow. My whole life I have thought hospital billing was absolutely insane, and this is a great example. I don’t know why a good lawyer hasn’t filed a massive class action lawsuit for billing fraud. Why does the government do nothing about th

I’m asking why a random sampling of hospitalizations for non Covid reasons would be significantly different than the general population with respect to likelihood of Covid infection.

The TV news yesterday said 50% of Covid positive patients were in the hospital for non Covid reasons. This is incredible to me. Is 50% of the general population Covid positive? Are people heading to hospital more likely to be exposed to Cov

I watched a YouTube video recently that talked about how difficult it is to go from 2350 FIDE to 2500. It seemed to imply if you don’t make 2500 by age 20, you will probably won’t ever get there or it will require years of study. The video

It’s definitely possible. I should probably do it. But other than the loud ring it has worked perfectly with very clear sound forever. Perhaps relocated to a different location would also be an option.

My landline phone has a very loud ring, non-adjustable. If I’m sitting near it, it is quite annoying. I frequently get calls when I’m asleep. I also get them in the middle of work video calls and since the ringing won’t stop, I have to pick

I have only very briefly looked at ELM. There is one thing I’m not clear about with the ELM architecture. Is the Model a tree with one to one correspondence with the GUI tree? If so, I assume this implies duplicate model entries if the same

I see many complaints about the font rendering and I also agree the fonts don’t look good. This is a general problem with OpenGL. OpenGL draws triangles. There is no support for antialiased text rendering. And if one can figure out how to r

I have built a Qt app using this approach. I created a vdom for Qt to allow for the view to be a pure function of state. However, the app also has some extensive animation, and it runs on a slow embedded processor. I needed an escape hatch
