Here here. I also previously worked at Fujitsu's mobile division and can attest to that. They still have an entire floor dedicated to developing for Symbian. Their main translator is hamstrung by rules that indicate they must re-use old (i

Charisma-kei businesses are common; I had a client that was clearly such. The president of the company was constantly spying on all his programmers, and often switched the strategic direction in order to conform to the latest trends that he

I built a multiuser blog for a site with two million plus users (soundpedia.com). I worked hard to make it scalable; making it static, easy sync with new servers in the cluster, etc... Themeable too. It was pretty sweet for the time fram

It seems disingenuous to mix Agnosicism with Atheism. Both are utterly different - one makes a knowledge claim (atheism) while the other is in a position of neutrality or indifference (agnosticism)

I'm not quite sure why I'm being modded down. One of the reasons I mentioned that is that toys from the early 80s avoided the use of Plastic as it was a cost center. Are crocs not made out of some kind of plastic compound? Or is it because

Is the DB engine really inherently faster than the scripting language? http://highscalability.com/blog/2010/3/23/digg-4000-performa... Not saying necessarily that the DB engine is less efficient, but rather that it is serves as a limiting

I haven't done any downvotes, but I do note that you have made quite a few posts in regards to DRM and other forms of restricted access methods. In your posts, I have noted the constant refrain of people being prone to theft. That may or m

Not to mention all the start-up related events in Tokyo. I don't enjoy the hard-sell BS, and some of the projects are awful (the Todai professor who shocked us at Tokyo 2.0 once with "Pop in" advertisements in 2009), but there are always in

The BSG finale was probably one of the better season finales that I have seen. I didn't like the Kara Thrace stuff, but I did find it fit thematically to the story. I heard the argument that there was a happy ending to a dark story, but to

I had originally considered the encrypted / hardcoded password, but wouldn't one simply need to grab the decryption code with the same hack (files set to 0777) and have access? Not trying to be flippant, it just doesn't strike me as easy to
