Baumol predicted this 50 years ago; it's called the "cost disease". The inflation rate for a computer with a fixed set of specs is massively negative -- it gets cheaper every year. So it is for many technological devices. But

How micro can it possibly be if it takes 10 people to deal with it? Seriously.

Those of us who have been around since the 80s-90s are astonished by the low productivity of today's programmers. If it takes 1 person to run 1 microservice, we are all doomed.

Not everything is a conspiracy. I know the author of this article and he is a straightforward person. The game industry is a big place with many different kinds of people in it, all of whom have different motivations. If you build a picture

The cars are dirty and smelly. The upholstery you sit on is gross. Once in a while you will find human feces in the cars. Most BART stations do not even have restrooms, water fountains etc, so I hope you don't have any human needs. The

I don’t think this is fully explanatory. I have lived in the Bay Area for almost 30 years, and, to borrow a term from our illustrious President, San Francisco is more of a shithole now than it has ever been. This has little if nothing to do

BART is one of the worst public transit projects in the western world... if you ask "would we have been better off with BART or something else?" the answer is probably something else.

If it is not SpaceX’s fault in this case, what exactly do you think it is reasonable for them to do? It’s weird that even your reply seems to assume it’s SpaceX’s fault. Why? (“I don’t like to see SpaceX fail...”)

1. Sure, Tesla's whole plan, since the foundation of the company, was to start out making expensive cars and then to continually make them cheaper until they are completely mass-market. They have consistently followed this plan. So I d

Electric cars are baller . They are fun to drive. My Tesla Roadster does not corner like a Porsche 911, it's true, but it does not matter for everyday driving, because it is so effortlessly faster than anything else on the road, whe

Yes, the game market is often hard. But I find this author's attitude fatalistic and weird. (Also I agree that the numbers do not add up). He seems to think that "rolling the dice" is the primary thing going on, and that he
