It is already fixed, in all nightly builds. Just download a build from there :)

Those 360 stereoscopic videos are usually precomputed. side-by-side or top-bottom videos. But you need a headset to view them, like Vive or Daydream. We are working on this for VLC.

We usually don't build binaries for Linux, we let the distributions do it, by themselves.

No, the subtitles download has been fixed in all nightly builds since a long time. Just download a new lua script or wait next week for the update (2.2.5) that will update the script and a few minor issues.

No, you really should use this build: http://people.videolan.org/~jb/Builds/360/ There are a few additional patches that are not yet present on the nightly builds. (For example making it work with the mouse o

I don't want to be rude, but you really should use the official URL: http://people.videolan.org/~jb/Builds/360/ . The current link is quite fishy, tbh. Source: I wrote this page and this build, and I l

Submit a new icon. But so far, it's very distinctive, so it will stay like that, until a better icon is submitted.

There is a lot more than just codecs and formats in a media player. :D Also, porting ffmpeg might be hard, while VLC has some simpler codecs to port for a start (libmpeg2 for example).

As the lead of the team of VLC, we've been discussing this since quite a bit of time, and we believe it is totally doable. But, we believe we need WebAssembly + Wasm-Threads. Without threads it will be a very difficult task to port VLC

That's a great idea. Maybe also backport some features of Slack, like edition of messages (with a flag marking it as edited), or a common way to have plugins/extensions, or tagging links as images.

Well, mostly, I believe we need support for custom fields, so we have for each ticket, the Platform, Component, Branch, Type, etc. And those fields can be queried or made mandatory. You can get then queries like: https://trac.vid

We use heavily gitlab-CE for VideoLAN (VLC, x264) on our hosted infra, and so far we're very happy about it. The only part blocking us from moving completely to gitlab and deprecate everything else is mostly the limited issues tracker

Is there really a market for a note-taking app, that cost $20 on the desktop? That sounds quite difficult to market and sell, when there are many alternatives, like Evernote, or OneNote that are close to free.

Unfortunately yes. We compile VLC for at least 9 different OSes, and on some of them, for 8 platforms. Autotools is the only tool that does it correctly. It's a pile of crap, but there is nothing else that works.

First, libVLC is LGPL. But for the other part, it depends. For MPEG-4 ASP or H.264, this is usually decoded by the hardware or the OS. For some other codecs, notably Dolby and DTS, it's more tricky.
