I think MS got closer to this with Windows RT and its apps. They had/have a central store which causing some problems but that could be expanded. The apps ran in a sandbox which allowed more than you might want but new, more restrictiv

You might also want to look at what people used before redux. There were a lot of Flux libraries and they were not all easy to use. And skipping libraries for state management all together often ends up in writing spaghetti code or reinvent

Complex analytics should probably be done in a db separate from the production db anyway. The analytical db could be an RDBMS, a datacube or something else.

You do have the impedance mismatch to OO languages, which are probably used in 90% of all applications. Farter more, I don't really think that all systems have relational data, it's just possible to store it in that format. Someti

It doesn't help when the nbr of queries and updates increases a lot. For many systems having TB of data also means having thousands or millions of users. You also probably want backups and possibly slaves that are updated inside transa

I think that when you have a type system that catches all bugs the type system itself is probably Turing complete. Writing the types in such a system may very well be programming. The more advanced systems are already too hard to use too be

IANAL. I think that is a common misunderstanding of the clause. If you sue them for react patents you can still use HHVM, or vice versa. https://medium.com/@dwalsh.sdlr/react-facebook-and-the-revok...

Great article! I wish this fad goes away soon. If I had the money I would think about hiring this company to get the contact info to a couple of reporters that could write more articles about Meltwaters bad site (and others like it).

Tips: VS has a full screen mode. It also has a very configurable layout, much more so than VS Code or Atom. But if you like VS Code then you should use it.

You have to buy a personal license yourself, your organization cannot pay for it. I just don't want to pay for work tools, my employer should do that and then it is the higher price.

Last time I checked it was the FIRST version you could keep forever. I guess they wanted to avoid having people buying a license every other year. I could be mistaken, though.

It's always a bit strange when someone chooses a framework based on how far they get in a few hours or days of testing. For medium sized or larger projects it's much more interesting how it will work long term with a large code ba

I've seen jquery code that looked like spaghetti, it was very hard to read or change even if you knew jquery. This is the problem that most libraries and frameworks tries to fix. I think react has succeeded.
