Sounds a bit like angular and we might get electron 3 and 4 very soon if they feel a need to update Chromium or Node.

MS seems to be on the way to support PWA directly in Win 10. If other systems would do this as well we won't have to ship a full runtime like Electron. https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2018/02/06/

Like Sciter? https://sciter.com/ I think WPF/XAML could have worked also but there were not much work to port it to anything but Windows.

Have you tried mobx with react? For me it looks like a good solution without much boilerplate. Also, for simple forms you can just store state as component state and then passit along at submit.

Sorting the clothes would be nice too. We have children and sorting all their clothes and our clothes also takes some time and work. Regarding other robots I would still like a vacuuming robot but it would have to be able to move chairs and

We tried the markdown support in TFS but it was not what we wanted and then we created a small tool using a static site generator. It builds the documentation site after someone pushes new content to the documentation folder. This worked we

I like the merge tool i Gitkraken, it makes it easy to choose one side for each conflict or edit the result directly. https://support.gitkraken.com/working-with-repositories/bran...

And you can go a whole career without needing the extra staging features that git has and some other systems like mercurial don't. The ui gets a lot easier without that and for many developers that is probably the best trade off.

The problem is affording a central living in a crowded city. And it actually almost don't matter what salary you have, if everybody tried to live near the city centre those prices would go up until only a few select could afford them.

This really sounds strange. Can you put the code up somewhere? There shouldn't be a 75 times improvement by going to .NET. A 50% improvement is more likely.

I think python is a bad choice for Excel, Ruby would probably be easier to people who are not developers and javascript might work just because if its reach (while still being simple).

First thing for new CEO, add more countries. Last time I checked they still missed a number of countries including Sweden. Strange that they couldn't fix this in their first two years.

As I understand it he says that Flutter uses dart and that is much better than js, react native lacks good documentation and the developer tools are great for Flutter/dart. Both Flutter and Dart seems interesting but I don't think

A real project usually have a lot of things that changes over time, including how to store the data. Adding columns and tables are basically the only simple things and not even new tables are always easy if they are connected to other table

This doesn't scale well. If only one person edits the spreadsheet and that person knows how to save copies and make sure there is only one latest version it may work. If you give this to 10 people they will start making copies, saving

Is it really? I thought that there were many more experienced java and c# devs and not that many with node experience.

I think that the development speed was a huge factor, it was probably easier to get a good-enough node system up in 3 months than a similar system in java.

Yes some things feel slower today, but not all programs and it's not always an apples-to-apples comparison. For example, you should not compare programs that edit local files without any network involved with those that have a network

How much better and for what cost? Last comparison I saw gave it about 25% compared to js. And it currently loses in dom manipulation, if you do that a lot it will be slower. It can of course still be worth it but I think people sometimes o

Find a job that is not a startup. Other companies often have less stressful environments. You can even go to another country, many European countries limits how much you work every month. Sweden is for example really great in this regard.

When you show a paginated list to the users they usually wants some sort order. Often they also want to be able to sort on any of multiple columns. Don't remember what example the writer had but sorting is normal.

On the other hand there is money in music, and it could and should increase. When you have 1 billion people paying $10 / month you have $12 billion per year to split between the artists, songwriters, record companies and distributors.
