You might want to try to interact more with the cat, ask your room-mate what the favorite toy is. That's the best way to form a bond with any cat. It may be trying to assert dominance over you.

Turns out I don't see the inline ads on Google anymore. Not sure when that changed. I was using NoScript from 2010 until FireFox Quantum came out and broke things. Since then I've been on UBlock + UMatrix. Agreed, seeing the inter

No, it's not tax. It's just systemic discrimination. If you're ugly I think you should earn just as much money programming as if you're pretty. Serving food and waiting tables doesn't require you to be pretty, it re

I made the switch to DDG from Google back around 2013/2014. Rarely do I ever need the !g to find anything, and frankly with all the inline ads on Google, I'm having a harder time navigating those results these days.

In the general sense I'd say I'm ok with a ring pointed at people's own property. I don't expect privacy in their front yard, might be a bit bothered in a backyard. A neighbor pointing their camera at the street accident

I'd wager most people adjust their behavior accordingly. I would absolutely expect privacy inside a home. If a friend had cameras inside their home I'd probably even opt to meet in public, where at least there's no false sens

We have two 03 vehicles that are going strong. The electronics are simple enough that I expect them to keep going unless there's ever water intrusion :) It's a Honda and a BMW for what it's worth.

We had a Miele back in Sweden, which was great. Unfortunately they're a bit more difficult to come by around here, which is why we went with the Dyson (which we did research ahead of buying). It just seems the people reviewing the Dyso

When moving to the US we decided to not skimp out on the vacuum and went with a Dyson Ball Animal 2 (an almost $500). It's one of the worst vacuums I've ever used. It's clunky, has poor suction and is a pain in the ass to emp

Wow, given how poorly people drive down here in FL I'm glad the speed limits are also significantly lower. Most highways are 40-50mph and the interstate is 50-70mph. People tend to drive around the speed limit or about 5-10mph over. On

My brother did something similar growing up. In Swedish a common way to ask the time is "Vad är klockan?", literally translating to "What is the watch?". To which I got "An invention that tells the time" or som

With Danish it really depends where in Denmark the speaker is from. I usually have a hard time understanding anything at all, but some accents are funny sounding but understandable. As a (non-fluent) Spanish speaker I get a similar experien

Where I grew up the last bus would leave downtown around 4am and the trams stopped for an hour between 6-7am on Sat-Sun (after basically all the bars and clubs had closed). That aspect was pretty good. Most other aspects of Swedish drinking

I'm pretty sure a drive-through isn't considered a public road in most jurisdictions, similar to how people usually don't worry about speed traps on Nürburgring.

I would say it's something you should work _with_ not _on_. Being introverted means you gain your energy from time alone and you typically drain energy in social settings. It doesn't mean you can't function around others, but
