That's a fair point, but I can appreciate getting a new version of the main framework out and giving a nod that the add-ons haven't been tested yet. Ship sooner, right?

I love bold moves and this is certainly one of them. I just don't think it's going to sell well. Yet. I don't think the average consumer will understand what it does and why it's priced the way it is. I understand what it does and does not

So, it is real! It looks awesome, but at $1,299, I don't think it's priced well. That's $100 more than a 13" MacBook. I just don't see that much value in a Chromebook at this point in time.

Can you have a short position in a privately held company? I don't think so, but maybe there's a financial vehicle for that.

If you are going to base your argument on a one-time security vulnerability in RubyGems, then I'm just going to get out of your way and let you troll on.

That's not Bundler's fault. It's the fault of the person who made the versionless Gemfile. There's really no comparison between using Bundler and mucking around with JAR files or Ant scripts in Java. I've even seen Python codebases with a J

There's nothing wrong with selling out. I assume Posterous was founded to make a profit at some point and selling out allowed them to do that. I'm actually 100% okay with that. I was merely calling out that "never selling out" is a strange

On the one hand, you have street cred for building an awesome product which inspires confidence that your next product will be awesome too. I don't doubt it will be awesome. But on the other hand, you did accept VC funding for Posterous (I'

How can anyone believe this will hold true? Especially coming from the founders of Posterous who sold out and then shuttered their service? Was Posterous created to not be sustainable? If so, then Posterous's users were duped from the get g

I just checked out that Kickstarter video. Where does it say it'll be free? In fact, I don't see how it could be, at least in the long term. They are building a web app. It will require ongoing costs to host, support and enhance. I don't th

It was curious when AOL bought About.me four days after About.me launched. 4 days. That's insanely fast. Tony Conrad must have friends at AOL. What's curious is buying the company back. Maybe Conrad is returning a favor? In the end, what Ab

I haven't bought a Dell PC since 2000. It was a piece of junk. Their support was also junk. I'm curious if this has changed in the past decade. Anyone bought a Dell recently that wants to weigh in? EDIT: Guess not (which isn't too surprisin

I barely skimmed the article (I've written myself about responsive design here: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/wa-cssqueries/inde... ), but he does mention cross-browser compatibility and respond.js in particular.

I live in Denver too and I haven't driven to work in 6 years. Instead of driving myself, I read, listen to music and chill out. I also don't worry about traffic, weather, or really much at all. It's great for drinking after work too. I shar

With regards to density, San Jose has a density of 5,256 people per square mile. In contrast, Denver (which has an awesome train/bus system) has a density of 3,698 people per square mile. If low density is why San Jose can't support a decen

Not really. There is a big difference between the posts you're referring to and the privacy concerns inherent in each. The one underhandedly fills in information that the user hasn't explicitly given a site. That's abhorrent. Another offers
