Ok. Here in Australia it's not like that. It's mostly years of arse-kissing, doing research projects and volunteering your time. It's not meant to find the smartest, but the most dedicated to that speciality, and to take adva

I'm a doctor and I don't know what "step" is, so I guess it's region-specific. I do a lot of skin work. The difficulty with dermatology is that lesions can look very different in different people. It's kinda lu

Wow this is accurate in my experience (actual cult, not dev culture). Where did you find this list?

While I can certainly see why you could call such communities an "echo system", I think you might mean "ecosystem".

Ah. Sounds like the cache wouldn't be much use for .au since nothing is in it currently. Gotcha.

I'm trying to understand what this is. So it's not storing any data? It is a web app that is capable of displaying data/files on other servers via the many listed protocols?

I was wondering why I couldn't upvote anything through the app and then also wondering why the app kept thinking I wasn't signed in. This is poor indeed. I like using Materialistic. I guess I just won't vote, submit or commen

We = kd3 + jazoom + whoever else kd3 was referring to. "We" doesn't have to include all 7 billion human inhabitants of Earth. You were not included.

The problem here is you're completely ignoring morbidity. Skin cancers are a whole lot easier and safer to cut out when they're small. Of course, I do work in Australia, so pretty much everyone gets skin cancer. Source: I cut out

Reading your comment now I also don't see where we are disagreeing. Though, I didn't say we are disagreeing, and I don't see why we need to. Edit: Did you by any chance edit your comment? I swear the word "miss" was

I'm a doctor. I can tell you that even if I think a middle aged man with chest pain has anxiety he's still getting a full cardiac workup. Even a 20yo woman with anxiety will get a cardiac workup. It doesn't sound like these d

I never got an email from them. Blaming users for having incorrect email addresses is a cop out. It sounds like there are very many people they didn't notify. Did they actually notify anyone before HIBP?

I think the trick to using the NodeJS/webdev ecosystem is to ignore most of what goes on and to keep one ear barely listening in case something truly useful comes along. ...and update packages with caution. SemVer doesn't always s

I don't know where your definition of parasite has come from but I've never heard it. Also, it's not universally agreed upon whether viruses are living or non-living (dead is the incorrect term). Parasite: an organism that li

I've been using NodeJS for about 5 years and have never seen the init usage you're talking about. `npm init` initialises your new project. At least I think that's the case, because I've never run that command. I just c

So you are arguing that no one "would say re-writing the same app 5 times and maintaining 5 codebases is a bad idea."? That was my statement. You are saying it's not true. All the upvotes suggest some would say that. Therefor

I'm a medical practitioner and that sounds a little silly to me too. I don't diagnose autism, though. I leave that to the paediatricians. The main reason that diagnosis is a big deal here is it's related to funding packages.
