Fair enough. But this has nothing to do with Mozilla's actions. It was as GP said. It includes things like their incompetence in dealing with a build process that creates transpiled/minified code. Even when I gave them all the sou

Well, I don't really care about the precious internet points disappearing. I'd much rather hear from someone what their reasoning is since I might actually learn something. But it is telling that there have been at least 5 downvot

Not from the extension (not that it would be against Mozilla's ToS if it did). It has other nice features to make our users' lives better. Thank you for judging my business without even knowing it.

Thanks for the info. You may be right about the downvote reason (though it's a pretty ridiculous reason), but I don't think that matters since they are in the same industry providing a similar service and there's no reason wh

I do use AWS, and have tried out GCP before. Just because I use Vultr doesn't mean I can't also use others.

I can confirm Mozilla handles this very poorly. I had the exact same experience with them. It was so bad that I actually just left the extension off their store and now focus on Chrome. There is nothing dodgy about the extension. Mozilla wa

I'd just like to take this opportunity to praise Vultr. I've been using them for years and their support has always been good, and contrary to every other growing company, has been getting better over time. I had an issue with my

Australia got rid of 1c and 2c coins in 1991. No one missed them. I wish we'd do the same for 5c now. Not that I ever use cash anymore anyway.

I'm also Australian and didn't realise it was because of this. Actually, I'm still skeptical this is the main reason since it's like a 260ms round trip to East coast USA. Let's say the latency for someone not living

That might not be so obvious to someone who isn't familiar with SQL databases. To those people, the "nitpick" added clarity.

I agree with TekMol that it's an important point. Nowadays we have new types of SQL databases emerging. Some examples: TiDB (distributed) CockroachDB (distributed) Crate (uses SQL but isn't even relational) They all use SQL. Picki

Genuine question: is this attitude held by most Americans or is it just the hypersensitive tech scene in California? I think I'd go mad living over there if this is really how people think. To be clear, I hate racism. It's disgust

They provided me horrible support on Gsuite. It took nearly 2 months of badgering them to get them to fix an error on their end with setting up DKIM. They refused to extend my trial at all while we were getting it sorted out. I left Gsuite

This is what I meant. I suspect the 0.01 probably encapsulates ALL these little sub-optimisations I decide on in a code base, rather than just this one variable swap. CPUs are a lot faster than most people realise. It's usually other t

Chakra seems decent too. And aren't V8 and Chakra both open source? Does Google improving V8 increase the size of their moat? V8 improvements also benefit NodeJS, and they also contribute to it, I think. I use both Chrome and NodeJS an

I'd have to be running that billions of times a day before I'd start to care about the extra nanoseconds. Clean-looking code makes me feel better than having my servers sit at 67.3% CPU instead of 67.4% CPU.

I'm a Chrome user so I don't really know, but doesn't Edge have an import function for all that? And isn't there a mobile Edge on Android as well? If Edge truly did become better than Chrome (has a long way to go) then I

You've got some good points there but also a lot of claims that really should be backed up by solid references.
