“Modern” ? Antiviruses have been doing all those things you listed for the past 15 years, these tactics are as old as the hill. I can’t remember a point when antivirus software didn’t do all that and just did the one job you wanted it to do

The point is, rather than setting out to maliciously deceive people it could have just been laziness. There’s multiple angles to what could have happened.

I want to add Hanlon's razor to this. Some are pointing straight to malice and intentional misleading. It wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted to make it genuinely work originally, but realised they could save a lot of money, resources

I feel like it leaked from developer software engineering culture into the mainstream. Dark mode on text editors has been a thing for a long time, I’m guessing a few people finally decided to do it in other places.

It’s not just the US where they do this but other countries in Europe also. The U.K. govt are looking into doing this for aviation as the US model was brought up in the commons when discussing Thomas Cook.

The C.A.A are covering all costs to hotels. Mainly through the ATOL fund. The CAA have already reached out to those hotels who have been kicking people out. So no, it’simply not true that any Greek hotel will be left out of pocket from this

Nearly? Rust is already faster than C in quite a few scenarios and benchmarks. The other comment also said Rust is faster when C is compiled through clang.

I agree with the OP, there’s only so much you can do with a phone, camera and battery life are one of the remaining things left with scope to improve. Apple are broadening as a company and the iPhone alone doesn’t define them anymore, that

People booed 2 years ago when they announced the price and they booed this year when they announced the Mac Pro pricing, You could hear it when they announced that expensive stand so that’s clearly not true.

There was a Go dependency that got deleted (repo removed) and screwed everyone else’s project up, so I’m not sure this is perfect either.

I get everyone replying to virgins Twitter account in disgust, but let’s be honest, the person on the other end of that most likely won’t be technical, nor will there be much chance of them relaying it on. They will reply then go home for t

We need to retire the IDE/Text Editor distinction. It really serves no purpose now other than to cause pointless debates or make people feel a bit more elite. The line is too blurred between the 2 and it doesn’t really matter anyway. N
