I believe my most vulnerable environment is the development environment. 3rd party code being updated almost constantly combined with fairly standardized cli to cloud environments (kubectl, az/aws/Heroku, gh, etc. And I don’t just

In my experience is it not about how many projects we want to change at once as much as it is about how many we want to test/build at once.

Weekly travelers prefer legacy carriers because they get upgraded to fist class, have special phone numbers for customer service and rebooking, board first, etc.

The intro talks about 9-figure deals, which seems a bit higher than an acquihire to me. 7-8 figures sure.

Is there any consumer car that is anywhere close? My understanding is that no other car has things like automatic lan change and route following. Let alone stopping at stop signs / red lights etc.

Once I even had to hard fork our entire monorepo to refactor the release actions that tag main.

What about caching to reduce ci time? GH setup scripts cache dependencies in a way that would seem hard to replicate in a make file.

Every admin assistant should be under an NDA / Confidentiality agreement. Same for personal security. But those are not non-competes.

But it had a cute bird. And the fail whale. It was approachable and silly. People didn’t take it seriously, but they weren’t intimidated by it. Don’t underestimate the benefit of being underestimated.

Who has a better notification / messaging system at scale, that isn’t already a phone maker? I suspect the Tesla phone team would be thrilled to review that code.

Counter-point: Tesla is rumored to be working on a phone. That team could be very interested in Twitter for shareholder-value reasons. Do we have any reason to believe it was Tesla’s AI engineers?

I read this while taking a break from trying to find the problem with our pnpm/turborepo monorepo. Works in a clean devcontainer, fails in CI, fails on multiple dev machines. Currently. I’m skeptical.

I am hesitant to run my APM on the same infra as our application. I love the idea of reducing an external dependency/cost, and it looks easy enough to add to our Kubernetes. It just seems a little like host our own status page on the s

Can’t hard link across mount point, so either copy to the container or install inside the container (both negate pnpm’s benefit). Our workaround is to put the global cache in the project so we can mount it alongside the code in the same mou

I emailed Tim O’Reilly in ~2001 and suggested they release PDF versions of their “Pocket Guide” reference books. I wanted to be able to have all of my pocket guides on my Sharp Zaurus (Linux handheld with keyboard, color screen, and Wi-Fi)
