If you look at how salaries are distributed across the US public, the 60k - 100k category is way too large while 151k-200k should probably be just one range and not two. As someone who hires programmers, I am much more interested in how man

I think it would be great if there was a way to easily capture my "most common error categories". Years ago I got bit a couple of times by assignment instead of comparison errors (i.e. if(x = 1) instead of if(x == 1)) I noticed a pattern an

I imagine these responses aren't what you were expecting. The general consensus seems to be that this is a misguided idea. Maybe you are romanticizing it a bit. A couple of years ago I decided to do something similar. I rented a cabin at a

I also use RescueTime (because I want to be productive) and did not try out the guitar (because I want to be productive). Granted, the plural of anecdote is not data. Is RescueTime a biased sample? Probably. The question to me is which way.

Maybe that will be the end of hearing 37 Signals rail against VC money? I mean, Jason now has $500k in VCs money :)

I think it is a fair question. Brand new account, only posting in this one thread, with pretty flimsy criticisms, and a screen name specifically indicating a negative bias. I did look into it before posting. I think it is also pretty shitty

Wouldn't that hold true for regular rental cars too? I have never heard of this being a problem with rentals. Maybe TheSkeptic (brand new account) is a competitor?

With an iPhone client for the customers that interacts with the POS, so it is definitely a feature they could have. The iPad POS doesn't appear to be in the app store yet.

To be fair, the buying public isn't reading that post. Also, CEOs as a group already get a pretty bad rap for wage disparity and dishonesty. I think thenpost was courageous ansnsmart.

I am a first time CEO too. I have startup experience and even experience as a business owner. However, being CEO of a startup with outside investors is a whole new experience. I am lucky to have great investors, a strong and friendly board,

I used 15" laptops for years, but recently switched to 13" and feel like it is a more productive screen size. I love dual monitors, but 15" seems just big enough to have distractions visible without having multiple windows usable. The 13"

Why care? Because up votes are also coming from the community and I believe we are all here because we respect the opinions of the people here. Also, comments sort within threads. Sometimes the best reply is to a no-so-great parent comment.
