I am a co-founder of a retail business. We initially had a 50/25/25 split, which then became a 50/50 split after someone decided to leave the biz. Then we gave a manager similar equity (with vesting) to end up 50/40/10.

Determination towards the startup? Or determination towards being in a group of startups? This may be a really great idea, but it seems like a distraction for the person running it.

I have been training for a marathon while doing a startup. It is a substantial time commitment each week and while you might think running would be a great time to ponder startup problems, I tend to focus completely on the run. This break a

Isn't that just semantics? Is a master woodworker not an artist? I have seen some really beautiful furniture in are galleries (functional furniture too). Don't the best craftsmen consider themselves artists?

Could add ropes and put pulleys on the ceiling with a couple of nautical cleats and make it something that can be done single-handed.

Ahhh, I miseed the part about this affecting all UIWebView. Though doesn't that really lend credence to the idea that this was an oversight and not an intentional slight at web apps?

I don't think users actually do this anyway. I am running a twitter poll on how many web apps people have saved to their iPhone: http://twtpoll.com/r/g3bnth I have a pretty techy following and this just doesn't seem to be done with any re

To be fair, the percentage can be a pretty fuzzy number for a young startup in the middle of raising money.

That is a pretty bold claim. It sounds ridiculous to me. Also, how can someone consumed with an idea finish school? It is that singular purpose that drive Zuckerberg to succeed. You can't just put that on hold and finish up a degree.

What do you mean a different computer? This was a copy that was never installed. I bought it from one of those online OEM shops. It wasn't zipzoomfly.com, but something like that.

Actually, that is how Groupon succeeds. Well, more deals in an area without an individual subscriber receiving too many deals. Targeted deals based on real-time inputs (weather, slow day in the business, new story about a competitor, etc).

ah the idealism of youth... Possibly. The odds are pretty bad for retirement at 40 though. Seems to be those who are successful / lucky enough to exit (making an assumption about your retirement plan), are also the kind of people that tend

According to the article, the average YC company raises $700k in seed funding. Assuming your $3M pre is correct, that would be about 18% total and 4% for the $150k investor. The question is, does a quick and easy $150k delay fundraising unt
