Using SQL Server Express is just trading one time-bomb for another time-bomb. Now instead of a 3 year bizspark timebomb we have a size time-bomb, once we cross that point we are springing for SQL Server. Why use a stunted Express product wh

We didn't seriously look at Azure for a couple reasons: 1) It's expensive compared to other hosting platforms. 2) I hate lock-in to a particular platform. If we coded against Azure tables we would be locked in to Azure. If we used their SQL

We actually use MySQL as a transaction log for things like orders/views to balance that out, MongoDB stores everything else though.

At TekPub we raised our monthly subscription from $15 to $19 and we didn't get one complaint. We warned the users ahead of time and told them anyone currently paying $15 would keep paying $15 as long as they kept their subscription going. I

I would go with something like Nesta, it's a simple CMS built on Sinatra that makes it easy to do very custom things (like you might need to for conversion rates, etc). http://effectif.com/nesta I am re-doing a couple of my marketing site

It can also be targeted down to the tag though which makes it worth much more, you usually see people advertising on Ruby, .NET, SQL, etc. and not on the main site.

Is it just me or does it seem cruel to keep this dog alive. If it is having seizures on a fairly routine basis that cause shrieks that "testify to his terror and pain." The more humane thing at this point would be to let this dog go. It's w

The tracking pixel is for tracking the stats from the web requests, the websocket is for updating the actual admin interface (from what I understand).

The most significant thing is actually what kind of market there is for the apps/sites we are building. Market is not just about the number of users, it's about how much those users are buying. It's the reason that Mac developers can make m

Yeah, but I can't image that crowd wanting to edit logical PHP diagrams. This looks like it is geared towards programmers, not your frontpage user. Your frontpage user would be better off moving to a CMS like Harmony, SquareSpace, etc.

This look like an absolute nightmare to use, who wants to drag stuff around in a GUI interface instead of writing some easy to read HTML or script.

It's tough to tell what they are really reporting here since I don't see it in the original AdMob report. If it's just web traffic then it is fairly useless to look at AdMob's numbers when there are much better sources out there. AdMob repr

Of all the apps I use on a daily basis I can think of only one that has AdMob ads running. I think what this says more than anything else is that the apps being written for Android are being forced to rely on ad sales as their revenue model

How is this better than redis? I can't imagine needing something higher performance than redis, especially if I had to pay for it and it was closed source.

Ok, so I will be that guy. You should really talk to a designer about your site UI/UX. To me it looks very much like a windows/java application and I honestly wouldn't use it or trust it with my data. I know that sounds harsh, but trust me.
