You mean YOU don't consider SVG a graphics API. But it's right there in the name, dude. If the article is going to bring in Canvas, it should bring in SVG. SVG shares more with opengl than Canvas does.

It's never been less true. Humans have never been more capable of coherent action, and this fact has not been lost on the sociopathic no-upper-limit-to-greed manipulator types who've done well in this nascient internet with its ag

The worst situation in my college experience was when a prof would go over some mundane part of a proof in excruciating detail, and then hand-wave the important part. I realized later in life it was because they prof didn't understand

Thank you! I think you correctly guessed what the students were thinking, because I have thought similar things. One angle here is that academics are (rightly) proud of their specialist knowledge, and often using words like "simply&quo

Accurate. This is a result of the heady combination of relying on the profession to enforce ethical codes, and letting corruption become standard practice, and therefore common and safe. That medicine is NOT a free market is easy to prove,

Constraints always have value. Without constraints programmers are confronted with the naked complexity of mapping between the set of all possible states of N bits which is (2^N)!.

On first principles, this is unfortunate. A good example of how technology enables the old to maintain a grip on power. I generally like Harrison Ford and his movies, but deciding to continue with this franchise feels wrong, somehow. Undign

That's a great xkcd, but there are 2 upsides to this arrogant approach. First, arrogance is a nerd-snipe maximizer. Second, there is a small chance you're absolutely right, and you've just obviated a whole field from first pr

And what a strange end for the mighty Blizzard. I wonder what the owners of Blizzard thought would happen when they sold in 2008. I bet it even mattered to them at that time, at least a little.

That begs the question: does correcting a homophone constitute a correction of grammar or of spelling? And another: can I successfully provoke another correction by 'misusing' "begs the question"?
