Moneybookers has $950 of my money (not a lot, I know, but it is to me) and is holding it hostage. I'm thoroughly displeased with them, in comparison to some others I know who have had no problems with them, even when dealing in much larger

I learned French almost entirely by helping raise my (now ex) girlfriend's 6 year old son. Best teacher I could have asked for, and he wasn't even trying to teach me :) She was also very helpful as she was a native French speaker, but flue

Doesn't sound at all like that's what the parent poster is trying to say. Sounds more like a caution against posting anything, anywhere, that could be harmful or damaging to oneself, while harbouring the unreasonable expectation that it wi

The implementation is completely unimportant. For as long as there has existed youthful exuberance (read: stupidity - we are all young or once were), there exists the risk and responsibility to own up to the consequences of ones actions. I

I still don't follow 100%. If there are two people in a photo, how does your input supercede theirs, on how it is used or not used?

Of the N people in your party scenario, who owns the photos/live recording? How can you retract something that someone else might want to publish, or might not object to being published?

I certainly don't have any good answers (does anyone? This is probably an intensely difficult area to quantify/qualify) but here is a decent article discussing women (edit) in IT, put forth by the National Center for Women and Information T

I'm not saying you're right or wrong, or that your point is right or wrong, but with as strong a statement as you made in point #2, you should cite references - even if only so that others can be aware of the situation.

You're making some very well reasoned points here too, and got my upvote. I'm not sure if it's just being accustomed to Apache and GIMP as long-standing products, or what exactly, but I don't get quite the same visceral negative response t

I respect your underlying point, but I can't accept your examples as tasteless. Apache was named such in homage to the Apache nations (at least according to the Apache Foundation): "The name 'Apache' was chosen from respect for the various

I thought something similar myself. The notion of diaspora doesn't exactly conjure up warming thoughts, but instead someone displaced (of their own volition or not) from their native homes. It is a very emotionally charged concept.

Yep, most services or search engines choose to respect the convention, but if the article indicates properly, it doesn't sound like the robot in question here was trying to be particularly kind or gentle in its work.

I have to agree with you. It seems like a tremendous waste of resources, listening to and algorithmically calculating when, where, and between whom these transactions occur. Seems like it's simply wrapping a transaction in an entirely extr
