I don't like the shakespeare analogy because not every written piece of code is supposed to be a work of art. You wouldn't write an instruction manual like you would write Macbeth. Most of the time there's really no value in

I'm not against predicting things, there's great value in them but usually there is some science behind those predictions. For example people who manufacture things usually offer a warranty period because they have a fairly accura

What is the value to predicting things other than stroking ones own ego?

Back in the day when google was growing, there were similar alarms about tracking and personalized ads. People didn't care, I doubt they would care with devices like echo too.

I admire the authors optimism but this is just another wishy washy article that someone seems to to have thought up while sitting on the toilet. Her main points are, while AI will put people out of jobs "big data" can help match

I'm still surprised that police would go shooting up a place without even verifying that the situation they are supposed to be handling even exists.

I think the real question is why we want to put a man on the moon. Imagine you climbed mount Everest with no climbing equipment and then 30 years later someone asked you why you haven't done it again.

Some people get anxiety when email piles up in their mailbox and may spend a considerable amount of time sorting and categorizing their emails, some go as far as making zero inbox a thing. I would hazard to say most people don't care a

There's another attack where they just break into the house and steal the keys and drive away. It's easy since most people have their keychains close to the outside entry.

The money/happyness one is particularly interesting to me. If money does not equal happyness why am I so happy when I get more? I make more than 75k so obviously 75k isn't enough.
