Having not studied Korean or Arabic, I would have a real hard time with copying and pasting, and knowing whether the name is a surname, or first name, or whether those cultures employ a first name or last name. (For example, many Asian cult

While this might be an unpopular sentiment, I think ASCII name isn’t completely unreasonable. In an effort to make it easier for people to communicate, we have designated English as the unofficial language for most open-source projects. Mos

Let’s suppose they call a customer service desk that uses Internet tools to help them—or they’ve paid for a transaction on Square. Have they technically indirectly been a beneficiary of the Internet? Does that count as using it?

I’m not sure if CAS is even partially SAML compliant or even related to it at all, but the way CAS handled it was that for every service ticket issued, the authentication service was supposed to ping a URL destroying a service ticket. It di

Will the addition of this preclearance station protect Taiwan’s sovereignty and rights? If China were to invade Taiwan and somehow bomb Taoyuan Airport, could there be a “Pearl Harbor” situation? Nevertheless, it seems like Taiwan’s status

Are you an expert in Chinese? What, in your opinion, is a suitable alternative example in Mandarin Chinese, then, that is commonly used by speakers of Mandarin Chinese?

That’s not true. The way it’s administered is an SBA loan, which have very specific guidelines banks must follow.

We just passed the CARES Act in the US, which gives small businesses a loan about 2.5 X their average monthly payroll. It is fully forgiven if used for payroll, rent, or utilities in the first 8 weeks.

I like the K&R book, but I think what really taught me the most about C was actually writing programs in C. And playing around with particularly interesting features like function pointers and OS library interaction such as dynamic memo

I don’t think it’s impossible if certain roads/highways or lanes become marked as autonomous only. Just as pedestrians and bicycles are banned from using high-speed roads, manually-operated cars could be banned from using certain roads

My last name “Hung” was blocked by Apple’s Genius Bar at one point when they displayed the names queue on the digital board. They don’t like certain methods of Chinese romanization (particularly the one used in Taiwan).

Doesn’t every language have such a thing? What makes German more exceptional than English? Or Chinese more exceptional than English? I’m certain there are expressions that don’t exist in every language, and even if you translated them, they

Not an apples to apples comparison, apologies to the computer company. Software companies are increasingly offering remote work to workers. As far as fast food is concerned, you are right, I don’t believe there are any remote workers, aside

Not a surprise since both companies require in-person work and don’t place remote work as one of their cultural values. Both have become extremely corporate places to work. Many of the Googlers I know dread the Gbus rides from SF, and many

This is not very true. Taiwan, Republic of China, has made attempts to change its name, only to be met with the threat of war from the People’s Republic of China if they perform a name change to Republic of Taiwan.
