>To replace git, you need a new paradigm. I don't know what it is, and I think few people here would um.... how about a good command-line UI that doesn't require remembering all sorts of crazy command line switches?

Renesas is a huge microcontroller supplier that no one ever hears about for some reason. Other major competitors are NXP/Freescale, ST, TI, and Infineon.

Atmel's and Microchip's architectures are so different that I wouldn't expect any consolidation of platforms.

totally lost here -- can someone simplify? I'm barely up to speed with C++11 and recognize the && move syntax but I've never seen "using" and don't understand the author's intent.

??? Microchip's IDE has always been free; the XC compilers all have free versions, the only restriction being that you can't use the higher level optimizations (-O2 and -O3 for XC16 are premium; not sure about XC8 and XC32)

I'd rather have the RSUs ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restricted_stock ) that my company gives us, than stock options. A chunk of them vests each quarter, they allocate an appropriate fraction of that chunk to co

oh right -- mediants! I've never heard of Stern-Brocot but I know what it is. Why not just use continued fractions directly? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continued_fraction#Calculating... e.g. p = 3.1415926535897

I'm assuming he's going to use continued fractions to find the best rational approximation to a given floating-point number.

Microchip Technology decouples yearly reviews and pay raises. (And pay raises aren't necessarily once a year, it ebbs and flows with company earnings.) I like this a lot; it removes a lot of the stress from the review process.

You can use either Atlassian markup or Markdown to edit Confluence pages, it just takes a few extra keystrokes and I can't remember how to do it right at the moment. Not a piece of cake like Github/Stackoverflow, but at least it&#

the answers you linked to cite key sizes of c * 2^k where c = 1,3,or 5 -- like 3072 = 3 * 1024, 2560 = 5 * 512.

OK but where's the statistical testing to verify it? For microelectronics there are better ways for true digital random number generators, e.g. http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.99....
