Thank you! This was initially a startup idea but it was very hard to sell a cyber security solution with a very bare bones product to companies large enough to have this problem. Because the required features of such large orgs are just too

Working on Kviklet: http://github.com/kviklet/kviklet My first job was in a FinTech and the way production access was managed scared me. This is my approach at streamlining the process. Basically a PR review flow for S

I mean I love postgres like the next guy. And I like simple solutions as long as they work. I just wonder if this is truly simpler than using a redis or rabbitmq queue if you need Queues. If you're already using a cloud provider sqs is

But only if it could do it with reasonable accuracy. The problem is that AI is one of the few technologies that doesn't just fail to do it's job but it fails and you might never notice until the error is already very costly if it

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Maybe statement instead of query would be more accurate but I think people get the gist of it just fine. Also, I disagree a manual query like: "select * from credit_cards;" should probably go

I wholeheartedly agree with this, when I started working on Kviklet we were a team of 3 and one of us was a lot more perfectionist than the others. It took a lot of convincing to even put our (tbf shitty) first website version up. Much mor

Just like agile, DevOps has some good intentions. It's always about how it's executed and like anything in software engineering you will run into trade off situations where you have to find the best solution for your organization

+1 for that book but it's a bit rough for a start I think. I'd try headspace, calm or any of the free guided meditations on YouTube for a bit before diving into that book. And yes the book reads quite spiritual despite the author

Other than proprietary models, what is better than it today? Just asking in case I ever need OCR and don't want to pay the cloud providers for it :D

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I also am using an ad blocker, but aside from that the pages that are returned work perfectly fine for me for the most part. Yes sometimes there is some useless blogs taking up top spots but then I tried th

You can kinda do this with Notion AI. It's not quite the same as slack ofcourse because you need to manually build up the knowledge base first but if it is well maintained you can use it to answer questions easily. Probably there is so

Glad to see some scepticism. I agree that the development seems to have slowed for a bit. Claude 3 is a bit better than GPT-4 but if we continue with such tiny improvements every year its not enough to keep the hype going imo. GPT-5 has to

I always liked Datadog as a product but it's also true that it is simply way too expensive if you don't spend significant time cost optimizing. But hosting it myself doesn't really seem like a great solution, I rather invest

I think the license is fine? Idk don't know so much about OS licenses. But teleport has a paid offering and hide a bunch of features behind a hefty paywall so the actual open source part has the limbs cut off.

Yes it's similar to teleport, but I always found teleport way too expensive and and complex to set up. Also as you say it's not really open source. Of course Kviklet isn't as mature yet but since I just want to target databas

You can parse the logs to figure out executed statements. But then you only know the Postgres user that executed them. In my experience there is often shared users, e.g. a readonly user or even for maintenance/operational tasks ("

I posted a show HN a bit over a month back, but since then we've decided to simply open source the project and no longer intend to found a company around it. However we did have a few learnings so I thought I'd share those! Also s
