Twitter has communities just like the other platforms, however, it's follow/follower model is a fatal flaw that encourages toxicity. Every single community that flourishes on Twitter eventually devolves into a set of people who sp

Except for a few complex components, Compose is for all intents, a complete rewrite of the Android view system. SwiftUI, at least in its current iteration, mostly wraps UIKit and AppKit controls and is bound by the contract of those control

This should be the top reply! Just want to add my extra take on comments: Comments are absolutely necessary when explaining complex logic that is hard to read for the casual reader (or yourself 6 months later). Comments are not necessary wh

While I agree with your hesitation in marketing deceptive content, I think you may be overloading marketing on YouTube with the term click-bait. From Wikipedia: > Clickbait is ... designed to attract attention and to entice users to foll

It's honestly surreal to me the amount of hype crypto is getting right now. No one can even articulate why they love it, other than the hype itself.

The iPodification of the Mac has been so utterly jarring to me. Little nuances in productivity have been reduced to accommodate porting over a platform that was designed for touch. Microsoft tried for a decade to merge touch design in a des

Rust is taking over the tools space for sure, replacing important tools that need to run often and speed is king, replacing tools written in python and perl. Rust is also making its way into new core cross-platform libraries that need speed

In my experience, object oriented view systems like Cocoa (UIKit or AppKit) work great for small teams with deep domain knowledge of their code base. However, they constantly require refactoring as teams grow and systems become more complex

Flash was a Macromedia product that Adobe acquired. I don't think the team that worked on it foresaw the rapid shift to touchscreen mobile devices. Even so, there's no way Adobe could have competed with Apple and Google's pus

There are so many mundane things that happen in local communities that I'm not sure you need research to show how invaluable it is to local readers. Yet, is noise to everyone else. I could think of a few, new businesses opening up, or

Sure, but what about medium sized communities? The Bay Area has lots of local news outlets and even more local "boots on the ground" community blogs run by volunteers. I don't know if that's true around the rest of the c

For me, the biggest problem is that news media is allowed to control the narrative by injecting bias into the coverage. We all know language choice has a strong power to manipulate and shift people's perspectives on what needs to be ra
