Interesting! It seems this is a rewrite of Yoga, by the same author, seen by another comment in this thread. So why start again using flex box as a layout engine? For example, there isn't really a good, equally as rich, grid layout eng

Facebook operates similarly. They created a culture of working on things that interest you as long as it can show meaningful impact. If you can show maintenance of something impactful, then you can work on it. It's really no different

I've been in some open office situations where it was so loud that you couldn't even talk to each other about, ya know, work stuff. It was like living in a call center. Conference rooms were overbooked and the situation was simply

Wow, this is like a relationship where one partner tries hard to convey frustration and the other one not hearing any frustration at all but ends up making them about themselves. At first I just felt Spotify was being a little dramatic, lik

It wasn't just Kindle. There were dozens of really high quality book reading apps that either sold old or hard to find books, comics, or even mangas. All of them evaporated over night once Apple forced the 30% cut. I'm still very

It’s easy. The mail teams at Apple, Google and Microsoft are running in maintenance mode and honestly there’s no money in it for them to invest in it.

That absolutely was true prior to 2016, but now the post Brexit, post populist world has shaken a lot of people up. Before people didn't realize what giving up their data meant, and they still don't, but at least now they are hype

Is this article implying that previous generations did not have assistance from family? Were families too poor to help in previous generations, but now are better off? I'm a bit confused on the take-away here. Instead this reads as a s

This is such a fairytale retelling of history. Firefox was well on the way to crushing IE. It was the whole reason Microsoft re-kick started IE development again. Firefox was the dominant browser in 2008. Safari was the browser pushing ahea

Hmmm, on Windows whenever I plug in a new Thunderbolt device, it requests permission to activate it. I assumed this was for this very reason. If I hand someone my computer logged in and unlocked, it's as good as compromised.

This is actually an argument for Apple to switch entirely to ARM. If they could consolidate engineers, it could continue to invest in Mac without needing crazy growth numbers to justify it.

Adobe is already porting their software to ARM architecture. I imagine opening a billboard sized PSD would be painful, but I could see small little icon assets and making tweaks would be a perfectly valid lightweight activity. https:/

I've been playing with a Windows ARM64 laptop and it's weirdly sluggish mainly because I think ARM IO and GPU cannot compete with Intel's offering. You can run benchmarks and the CPU seems decent for a laptop, but it's a
