I agree, not only because they're terrible overall, but because one result of the fact that we haven't been quick to forgive GoDaddy is that Nintendo, Sony, and EA have quietly removed themselves from the SOPA supporter list as well. http:

I ran into a big problem with timezones when I was in the Navy. I was in charge of a big supply database server on an aircraft carrier, and every time we changed timezones I had to update the timezone on the server. Heading from East to Wes

Never a good idea, unless you want people to give you money via credit card. From my experience, having one of those badges on your checkout form results in a measurable increase in conversions, even if it doesn't mean anything to people wh

How about only showing the ads until each month's (or the year's) costs are met? That way there's no temptation to try to derive a profit from it, and at worst you end up with ads on Wikipedia for a couple of months out of the year (kind of

They should place one ad in the sidebar, with a "request for comments" link right above it. Run that for a week, post the results, and let the community decide.

I think the problem in this case, when you're talking about adding airborne transmission to a virus with a 50%+ mortality rate is that the risk of someone causing a pandemic is MUCH higher than the odds that they will find an effective vacc

Kind of makes you wonder why Mars doesn't have a magnetic field then? Its composition is similar to Earth's, and I assume that it's big enough to have similar pressures and temperatures closer to the core?
