Alignment is another key the author forgot to mention. Cache aligning data is seriously important, even if it means padding stuff like crazy. Caches are pretty big, but having to load two different cache lines and do some bit trickery is a

I highly suggest doing the labs of MIT's 6.858 (Computer System Security). I'm taking it right now, and it's one of the most rewarding classes. The labs can be found here: http://css.csail.mit.edu/6.858/2

Dotfiles are meant to be personalized. I've built mine up over the years, I think everyone does. I don't think dotfiles lend themselves to being managed by a third party package manager. On the other hand, maybe a place just for h
