Google makes a lot of money on Gmail/Calendar ( http://www.google.com/enterprise/apps/business/ ), so they are very unlikely to go away.

Your point makes no sense. If they charged you a monthly amount, you'd be ok with it? They did say it would be online-only long before launch, so anyone who paid for it knew what they were getting in to.

Saying it's trivial is kind of ridiculous; it's not. It's worth considering that rolling back the API like this will bring a lot of users back to the site to actually see those ads. Regardless, as a developer it sucks to see companies take

It is an important issue, and that's why we have the other thread.

Agreed. Any employee can take a sale from anywhere in the store and have your receipt emailed to you with a push of a button. On top of that they have dozens of employees. I can't imagine a faster checkout system.

That's not too shabby at all.

I don't know if the self-driving car would survive your "street parade", but at least they can drop you off and then leave the city to park somewhere else until you need them again.

Ah yes, I've heard of that train. It doesn't go any faster than 100mph does it?

Freight is a big problem. They own the rails; Amtrak is a guest.

I won't argue that 2030 will be the magic year, but self-driving is a far greater incentive for most people than being electric powered.

What field were you adding? Are you aware of django.contrib.auth.models.AbstractUser?

In case anyone is considering the migration, it's actually very simple with South. Here is a step-by-step: 1) Setup custom user model to inherit from AbstractUser with no additional fields. 2) Meta.db_table = 'auth_user' on custom user mod

I've been using custom User models for over a month, and I can tell you that using a profile model is far nastier. Besides avoiding a join in the DB (or worse, a separate select), being able to override user model methods has been an incred

This is how I run my apps as well, and they seem to handle more than one request concurrently per dyno, but I'm not smart enough to dispute this post, so I'm just sitting back and watching.

That is fairly old data sampled at an extremely favorable time for the S3.

Citation most certainly needed. I have a feeling the iPhone 4 is still outselling the S3.

CBS has decided not to do business with another company because it might bother two of their bigger clients. That is an outrage?

Creating a bunch of different iPhone product lines sounds like a great way to confuse the rest of us that don't care about the fashion statement. I think they need to work harder on making iOS more customizable, that should help satisfy eve

I felt the same way until I started writing the HTTP requests myself. This was one situation where using a library really slowed me down and hurt my understanding of what was going on.

It doesn't need to die for Intel to bleed. Power users (developers, designers, etc) are such a small fraction of overall users we might as well be 0%.

I think if you avoid passing in "data-amount" it will not show that text. Keep in mind that this checkout dialog does not charge the customer anything, so the amount is purely cosmetic.

Same thing happened to me on a Friday and they locked my account. CS claimed they couldn't unlock the account until Monday... just imagine if they were my only bank. Not impressed.

Android is the default OS, so naturally it picks up a lot of users that don't want to use all of it's core features. No surprises here.
