Brilliant! Kickstarter fraud just got even easier. Now you can fool your customers into thinking you have a working prototype in record time!

The point isn't to be a "fair" comparison, but rather to compare the number of explicit operations involved. I'd note that your Haskell example there is largely equivalent to the Scheme one.

I was largely using Racket as a common enough Scheme that I have installed my computer. I wanted an example from another functional language but in an older classical style (I was shooting for the Little Schemer here). I'm quite famili

Pattern matching isn't just conditional matching. It's also binding, and even some common operations. Compare a naive Haskell map: map f [] = [] map f (x:xs) = f x : map f xs To a Racket one made without using (matc

I was recently prescribed beta blockers by my doctor, due to ongoing heart and blood pressure issues brought on by severe stress anxiety. I also have asthma. It's a mild case, and I don't need an inhaler or any medication for it,

Yeah, I tried this. IMO, if you don't have the grounding to do such a project justice, this is a good way of getting lost in the weeds and crash and burn hard once it passes your level. There's nothing wrong with taking a few proj

The article more or less makes this precise comparison. "Do everything in Emacs" isn't really so different from "Do everything in the browser." Arguably, modern browsers are more heavyweight and complex at that. The

I used a similar idea in a cyberpunk book I wrote once. You might know cyberpunk as a dystopian genre . Mostly I cribbed the idea though from Saint's Row IV. This article is more ridiculous than a game with a dubstep gun.
