Doesn't matter, we need a new thread because if there are too many comments things on HN become unusable. Or is there a way to sort by most recent comments that I am not aware of?

Of course title is a bit of a clickbait, because they are comparing walls of same strength, not single row straight walls with curved walls. But how does this compare with a straight wall with brick columns every two meters or so? My guess

I did something similar in the early 90s, placing parts into various machines (produced 15000 welding tips in one summer). At that factory drinking previously had been common among workers. They banned alcohol during weekdays after one work

his is an old SEO trick (white font, tiny font, font in background color, transparent font, etc.. Worked a while until Google adjusted their algo and this "weird trick" got a penalty.

I once had a fantastic experience with reporting a bug on Firefox. One engineer saw that the bug was severe enough to justify delaying the release process, they worked their asses off to fix the bug and merged the bug into the new version w

The "guy from Opera" has done amazing work on SVG in Chromium. I hope he will be able to contribute a few more years, because it will be difficult to replace him.

Yeah, it's a bit confusing with all those brands. Tesla is just Tesla, but Volkswagen is a company and also a brand, and the company owns the brands Volkswagen, Škoda, Seat, Cupra, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley and Porsche. But it is owne

That is only true for sea water near surface. I am talking about deeper levels of the ocean. If my calculation is correct the mass of CO2 released into the air per year is roughtly 1/35000 the mass of all sea water in the oceans. Sound

That sounds like "I just don't want that!". We don't need a map to know how dissolved CO2 influences acidity of sea water. Trust the science, bro.

That is just on the surface, right? The mass of CO2 relased into the air per year compared to total sea water on earth is approx 1/35000. Does is really make such a big difference if dissolved in deep sea water?

Stupid question, can't the CO2 just be dissolved in (deep) sea water?
