To me it reads veganism in the form that the individual practicing it does not deviate from it, nothing about telling others how to eat. How is the existence of those people counterproductive to people eating less meat?

Firstly, it doesn’t matter if humans wouldn’t want to eat them because they form a part of a food hierarchy that’s disruption ultimately damages humans. It also causes a cycle in which less wild fish is available and more must be farmed. Se

> Telling people, "you should never eat meat" That was not in their comment though, there wasn’t any mention of people telling others what they can eat. The comment just states that the existence of vegans is counterproductive

I don’t do much backend work at the moment but I found using JSONB fields for prototyping endpoints to be quite handy. Once I had a feature figured out and working, I’d create a proper schema.

Also a paying customer, I'd like it if they would email an invoice every month instead of me needing to go login to the web UI and dig for it when I do my monthly tax reporting.

Do you want me to enumerate the ways in which a bike is not a motorbike and the parameters in which people who are interested in bikes operate in their hobby or profession? Or are you asking why professional racing puts guidelines around wh

What makes the largest difference is how physically fit and how well you can ride (technique) rather than equipment.

I get what you're saying but a part of the culture in my experience is tinkering and upgrading your bike, that doesn't have to necessitate spending huge amounts of money, especially if you do a lot of work yourself and buy parts s

I forgot I had this installed and purchased as I tend to just use the cli for everything and have never really used a GUI. I'll try it out for some trickier merges.

This has been the argument for decades to justify privatisation of state infrastructure. Anything with high barriers or physical limitations instead just becomes monopolised. It’s a failed experiment at this point. I’d be highly suspicious

RethinkDB was actually pretty good from memory, a little underbaked but expected for a new DB. I think they also kind of just lost out on the marketing war with MongoDB at the time.

No, they don't, unfortunately. I feel like the term CRDT leads to misunderstandings like this. CRDTs are more like packaging and abstractions on top of various strategies for building multi-user, local-first UX, they let end users prog

OK good to know, yeah, we even have a whole new concurrency model in Swift which makes offloading things a lot safer and easier than it used to be.

The only cross-platform tooling I've really been interested in is Rust + uniFFI but it doesn't seem to be that widely used yet, I've only built some toy libraries in it so can't actually say how well it works.

Eh, I was recently contracted onto a native macOS team (Swift), the company had an adjacent desktop team who opted to use Flutter, they had a lot of problems and ended up dropping the project. I don't know the details but there was a l
