I can’t stand this either, also “source?” thrown into the middle of discussions for information that’s broadly known or available within the context of what’s being discussed. This often just demonstrates the person arguing with you isn’t w

Just a guess but I think Apple was just scrambling to have a foot in the door and is likely working on gradually integrating their own Apple Intelligence services as replacements.

Yeah absolutely. I’ve also noticed a lot of random AttributeGraph crashes showing up in our monitoring for macOS and not for iOS despite iOS having far more active users.

Fair points, I’m probably inclined to vent about the tech more being closer to it. I do think that a niche will continue to exist as long as Apple offers an official way to build for it, for a variety of reasons.

As someone who’s done a fair bit of native macOS development. I’d say modern Apple is also at least partially to blame by their lack of understanding for macOS and seeming disdain for it. SwiftUI 5 years later is still full of issues on mac

You could also adjust your world view so that your employees or potential employees aren’t automatically considered petulant and grumpy based on their job title.

I’m not the author of the tool, I was just chiming in. But yes, inverting it probably makes sense.

This is pretty much the conclusion we also end up at, data race issues aren't our main issue right now, although zero would be a nice to have. Everytime I've tried out Swift 6 language mode I also feel like I'm sometimes appe

It's maybe reasonable to change the defaults, but I think you should also be mindful of running any random cli program in your codebase, the top of the Github readme does indicate that the --check mode runs it without deleting files.

These people should put their minds toward instrumenting reform across the EU and modernizing decrepit and corrupt state institutions before they start talking about giving these bodies even more tax money to piss away.

If you own your home outright plus have 1.25 M€ in assets you would be considered very well off in all of Europe. I don't exactly know about "ultra-rich" though.

I’m sort of in two minds. On paper, I think for greenfield projects data-race safety checking looks great. If I switch to thinking about my day job, I know we will likely never adopt Swift 6 for some of our components because they’d need to

If you’re targeting newer OSs you can try the @Observable macro instead of ObservableObject. It fixes a lot of the weird problems with the latter (although does introduce some new, weird edge cases).

I use it full time, I’d say if you’re targeting iOS17+ you’re probably good. On macOS it’s completely busted still and I wouldn’t bother with it. The future of mac apps looks even bleaker than it did before.

You may or may not be correct that Monero is not untraceable but this example doesn't prove or disprove anything because the transaction wasn't entirely in Monero. Your argument seems to be about the traceability of the whole exto

A couple of years ago I ran into a old colleague at the pub who mentioned he’d quit for a while to work on a game idea. I made a joke asking if he was now making a game engine and turned out he was first instead working on a programming lan
