I've done a little bit of hydroponic growing (chillies) so I'd love to know how the perlite is going to remain algae free and how this desk would be cleaned if / when aglae starts to take hold. I think this is a great idea th

This is a very nice implementation. I did something similar myself django-writingfield[1], but it is Django specific. I much prefer your UI and the switching of dark text/light background is really slick. [1]: http://django-writingfield.ob

I keep MSG on hand for all dishes that involve meat. It's easy enough to get at most Asian/Indian stores and when combined with properly seared meat, is amazing.

The last time I contacted them, yes, they did leave a lot to be desired and the response was very "cut & paste" as you've labelled it. I have a theory that the larger the company, the higher the threshold of incompetence is. However the

Perhaps this is where I get nervous, I put quite a bit in my hosts file for local development. I'm a shortcut junkie though so I completely love the idea of a personalised DNS server that learns what I commonly resolve and allows me to make

I get really nervous running something with sudo that writes to my hosts file. This is a really nice idea and I'd love to see it in another implementation.

Nice, I'm working on something similar myself and it's also in Django. You might want to switch off DEBUG=True in your settings if you're expecting HN to come knocking :)

You're right, it is a whack-a-mole situation, which is why I'd move more towards a browser and user level solution. The OP made a fine suggestion that bridges responsibility between user, website owner and browser > The gist would be us

I'd like to see this legislation deleted and chalked up to a learning experience for government. In principal yes, I do want websites to be open about their cookie use, but leaving the implementation down to the website owners has spawned m

From a presentation I caught earlier this year they're planning to start rolling this out later on in the year. The approach they've taken is very refreshing on eye and quite joyful to use - the new vat rate page[0] compared to a current va

Mainly because the author of the Doodle Jump clone stated that because he created "the logic and graphics"from scratch he has the legal right to release it as open source. I can't see any evidence to suggest he has the authority to do that

It's still uncool to do that so blatantly, you should at least take this as an opportunity to develop your creativity and use what you've learned to drive something of your own making. It's a nice job you've done, but I'd like to see you pu

I'm not a legal professional but even though the author claims that the "logic and graphics" have been created by scratch, doesn't that make no difference to the fact that he's almost (the movement isn't as nice) recreated someone else's st

At first I wanted to disagree with what you'd said and I'd half written a reply about how being negative is an opportunity to learn how to be positive. However, when I considered your point of view, I choose to agree with you. This is what

I'm experiencing that as well - it looks like any (unofficial) github buttons need to have their domain changed from github.com to ghbtns.com. The commit message seems to confirm this. [0]: https://github.com/markdotto/github-buttons/blob/

I follow the same line of thought to an extent. I like to put an id on the body tag for global navigation purposes, but aside from that I keep the id for js work.

I see this as an opportunity to develop your skills as a web developer, not knowing how to work commonly used tools from the command line is a weakness that needs to be resolved.

If left to owners/managers/developers to implement the opt-in we risk having a variety of ways for doing the same thing. Some good, some not so good and some just bad. A less painful solution would be to try and solve this at the browser le
