I don't think so. It's like saying we have Heineken, so why would anyone want a craft beer?

Hey man, super cool to see you come back to the project after so long. Skeleton was the only understandable framework that was on the go when I started developing, and it really helped me get to grips with RWD. Every time I'd start new

I think the point is that a healthy work/life balance would allow you to give 100% of yourself to the child at the particular moment you're with them. Not having to check an email when you're reading them a bedtime story. Bei

Jenny Holzer's piece is by far the most interesting and opinionated, and still relevant to current discussions on security, leaks et al. Love her take on this. Sherpard and Davis' are trite in both concept and execution. IDEO'

User orientation and regularity or commonality of action should define the most prominent and accessible navigation and actionable clicks/taps. Where are you, what are you most likely doing, then give them the items needed for those sc

Medium's hallmark is an 'enjoyable reading experience'. Care to give some opinion on what makes it poor? Not being funny here, I'm not their biggest fan but such an dousing comment provokes debate.

16px seems to be somewhat of an industry average [0]. Depends on the communication needs of the item. Personally I find smaller text and longer line lengths set the tone for how I should be consuming the article. Smaller and longer, more th

A design that consciously chooses to go outside these guidelines can still be good design, same with your fine-dining and hobbit architecture examples. Context and the goals of the brief are key.

Design includes aesthetics, I think you need to recalibrate your definition.

Completely agree I have the web bias, it's what I grew up making, yet I think the further comparisons you mention (autocad + c++ (tbh, no knowledge there)) separate the implementation from the final artifact much too abstractly for it

I have always felt that learning code as a designer is no different to learning to take the production of print work into your own hands. Foil-blocking? Better talk to the printer. Six spot colours on a 64 page handbook? Best check with the

This is ranty, but also quite insightful into how a mistreated developer would feel and should give pause to other designers listening in. For what it's worth, the digital design crusaders have been pushing for tighter integration with

The idea of a non-accessible user interface leading to greater quality in content posted is very interesting and something that's played on my mind for years and have noticed in some communities. Would love if there was any research on

I would dismiss any and all notifications with a curt 'oh piss off!' unless they were impeccably timed and had something sentimental like a large photo of me with that friend.

How can you help people who don't realize this and would refuse any suggestion to seek advice? I fear my mother might be struggling with this since she was laid off last year but actively refuses to have conversations about how she mig

Daily drinker as well. Although it varies. Sometimes I'd have a week without taking a sip without realising and other weeks I'd get through a bottle of wine over the course of a night after work.

I'm Irish and I'm still not a fan. It tastes of boring, Irish guilt and dread. Most of my designer friends are very partial to it, but it's more a case of having the one Guinness and then moving onto other beers.

It is Behance after all. The designer's site is similar in it's presentation however. ID students tend not to be great with typography or web design, despite having user centric design as a main tenant of their craft. Not gone on

The author calls for creators to present a new future world that is optimistic and to me, that feels a little shallow and half baked. It is certainly not subversive, it is naive. We are out of the pure postmodern cynicism, but the rebuttal
