Steam's cut is 30%. However, for that 30% you get to update your game whenever you want, and virtually as often as you want. By that I mean they don't impose any direct limits on how often you update, but the general rule is no more than on

That was actually one of the questions asked during the "Meet the Go team" talk at Google I/O. They joke around for a bit, but they end up giving some solid arguments. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sln-gJaURzk&feature=playe... Edit:

The death toll charts are pretty shocking. I mean, an increase of over 300% in 5 years? Wow.

Yes. Totally agree. This was a very smart move made by Google, and it will be interesting to see how it affects the adoption rate of both Chrome and the Chromebook.

I've always had a bit of an issue with these if statements. It might be slightly more concise, but your code also isn't as straightforward to read. In fact, it's really only more concise in its use of vertical space, so for clarity's sake I

No, but if it becomes standard in most browsers, I would guess that would be enough for many people to consider using WebRTC for the same reasons they would consider use BitTorrent. And because of its accessibility, WebRTC would probably wi

Luckily, it appears there will be an update in the coming weeks to address that (according to one of the Google IO talks).

What kind of implications on battery life does this have? As in, constantly running the webcam.

You could fallback to a Flash implementation of WebSocket, and use the native browser implementation when available: https://github.com/gimite/web-socket-js

Wow, not bad. I was surprised to see a new to-do list app do pretty well, knowing how many are out there. Well done!

Yeah, even for an experimental feature, that seems like a massive oversight.

That effective tax rate of 12% is not by design, though. It is due to loopholes that have been thoroughly exploited. A big one being foreign profits are not taxed until it enters the country, so many companies now take their income outside

Yes, and the beautiful thing about it, is that the blocking calls you make are actually implemented as evented IO. This is great when you have a large number of goroutines; it keeps it very fast!

Disks are big, but I think 100MB is maybe a bit excessive...even 10MB gives you 40k lines of history, at 256 bytes per line, and that is a conservative estimate.

Right, what I really meant was a document. I was trying to relate it to SQL, but I may have made it more confusing than anything. That issue is what I was referring to, and it would be a good step forward. However, it's a shame you have the

Go's net package has its own resolver. See http://golang.org/src/pkg/net/dnsclient.go http://golang.org/src/pkg/net/dnsclient_unix.go But yes, it does not appear to be used anywhere now, as all of the dns lookups for each platform seem

One of the shockers I came across with MongoDB is that each instance of a key takes up memory. There is no form of a symbol table for the keys, so this means a huge amount of data overhead if each 'row' of data uses keys at all, which they
