Agreed, and with Adobe and Autodesk monopolizing creative software, I think we'll see more and more of this. Blender has been doing spectacularly with 3D to the point that Autodesk must be incredibly worried, and I expect we'll see more Pho

Interesting, but would you take a stolen car? Doesn't quite compare, I know, but it's a bit silly to justify it by saying that.

Recently when compressing some SQL backups, I found xz to be very slow when compared to bz2 (at least with default compression settings). Edit: And in this case, bz2 even gave better compression ratios if I recall correctly.

At this point you could flush out the inferior options and start anew with just the winning design and the new one.

Yeah, that's a very strange description as well. As far as I remember, it's always been about social gaming, and far before that was what it was even called.

The emphasis with 'int *x' is that the variable is no longer really a variable anymore. It is a pointer to your variable. It doesn't really have anything to do with the type.

There is EASTL, though I've never used it myself. https://github.com/paulhodge/EASTL Valve's Source SDK makes extensive use of their own data structures, however it is very specialized. For example, linked lists are allocated as growing,

Indeed, you have to roll your own data structures. This is pretty common in the game development world, where exceptions are considered to have unpredictable performance characteristics.

Yes, sort of. I believe the current theory is that much of Earth's water came from thousands or millions of meteorites that carried ice and/or hydrogen and oxygen compounds that later stabilized to water. This would have happened during the

Ah, that's where I remember this stuff from. Yes, this is a great series, and it's amazing how similar everyone's early-age start in technology was. Doom and Basic are common themes.

The funding is to pay for full-time ReactOS development. Wine might be involved to a degree, but surely putting money directly into ReactOS is the best option.

There is simply a lower signal to noise ratio in regards to innovation. And yes, while there is a lot of noisy low-innovation internet companies, there are still more strong innovators now than there were 10 or 20 years ago. There is a low

What a joke. These drones would still have to connect to the internet somehow...you would need radio transmitters on the ground, which would totally defeat the purpose of the drones.

I just find it odd that Apache hadn't employed the likes of epoll already. IRC servers have been using async sockets like this for yeeeears.
