Interesting idea with face detection, though I'm not sure if there would be any wins over what the video codec already does.

Once someone figures out a natural content creation interface, that will be truly groundbreaking. Who knows if it's even possible purely with hand gestures. I forget where I read this, but one of the major factors in precise control ov

Yeah, I'm not sure I get it either. They call it a "syndication network" which, for me, gives the impression of a distributed network that is strictly controlled, which defeats the purpose. I hope this is just poor wording.

I noticed that, but you're still allocating for 800 goroutines in the end. I guess in the scope of the benchmark, that is still relatively cheap. It just was a red flag for me.

Why are you parallelizing these in such different ways? For example, in Go you start 800 goroutines, but in others you start just 4 threads/tasks as worker pool. I would imagine indeed these would give quite different results.

This is because cgo is actually a preprocessor that generates the final C and Go code that is built. The tools are just good at hiding this. Personally, I wouldn't say this is a bad thing. You can do some powerful things with this, inc

Why do that versus: http.HandleFunc("/route_to_url", handlerWrapper(handler)) http.HandleFunc("/route_to_url2", handlerWrapper(handler2)) Is the map used elsewhere?

If you use Go's time.Sleep(), the goroutine will yield to all other goroutines while it is sleeping. Unfortunately, as georgemcbay says, using the system's sleep impedes Go's runtime as it cannot use that thread to run any go

In regards to Go, why do you think it feels too low-level? Is it about library availability or is it more about the language itself?

Personally, my hope is that we'll be able to target the browser through this effort via emscripten (asm.js) and PNaCl.

Whenever I've tried leaving an insightful note for myself like this, over time it seems to completely lose its meaning. Definitely never as profound as when you read it the first couple times. Perhaps that would make a great app. Periodic a

Wow, Tuesdays are killer. Edit: At first it seems we are trending down in happiness, but surely there is some bias here. One thought is that the number of new or fresh twitter users has declined, and so the overall eagerness and excitement

Is there no way to get the direction vector of the ship? You have rotation in radians, but no way to convert that.. not even cos/sin to roll it yourself. Am I missing something?
