It has a global rate limiter AFAIK, so it's hit and miss depending on how much load it's under. Edit: I was trying to datamine Steam several months ago as well, but the amount of data I needed really was unrealistic for this very reason, a

This is a nice take on things. I could see a very Metro-esque look evolve very easily from this for Windows, too. Steam's current theme does feel quite busy. I do like the design of the new Big Picture mode, and I think we are probably due

All of these guys aren't just ISPs; they're in the cable TV business. Conflicting interests, really.

That would be such a tight schedule...surely they would have something in draft form at least. If this was someone's fulltime job, maybe I could see it, but really there's no reason for them to "test the waters". That was done with their bl

Interesting...while reading this, I started picturing Steam becoming something a bit more like Etsy, but for digital goods. Anyone else sort of get that vibe?

I don't know, the form factor is interesting. Even aside from the modularity, the size is very small, and not sure how you could really do that for yourself. Look at the size of the ethernet port on the back compared to the whole unit. Edit
