That's a valid point. It could be a good fit for this, but it's not as clear as something like Posterous, which mikeklaas mentions. You still have to go to the website first to figure out what it's all about.

Very true. Posterous executed amazingly. They addressed a large market with early adopters who were already primed by email-blog gateways & xmlrpc clients, and they had a great, repeatable message that was embedded in the email address:

Also, users don't assign copyright, they merely (if the users have actually agreed to these terms) grant TwitPic a non-exclusive license. All someone has to do to get around it is tweet @ you and get your permission to use the image instead
