Maybe the answer is that String is a class and string has no special meaning in Java? It could be that the author was shown a bit of code where an instance of a String was called string (I've seen this many times as an argument name especia

The irony being that you've just provided another alternate list! I think your comment makes good points though. The OP makes a lot of good pints as well. The bits of humor make it clear to me that it's not supposed to be taken literally.

Thanks so much for the reply. I haven't been able to get the full suite running where it creates the environment and everything via the setup scripts - I just have tried to reproduce the Nginx environment and run tests manually. But I rea

Thanks to techempower for putting this together. It's fantastic for me as the author of Phreeze to see how my framework stacks up, I've always been curious. One strange thing is that Phreeze rocks on the multi-query test on the EC2 instanc

"In my first two weeks of being hired, he cut in line in front of me and a co-worker at the office cafeteria sushi kiosk." More than any negative thing I have ever heard about Steve Jobs, this is the most disappointing to me.

I would imagine it is easy for the prosecutor to claim the dependent is a flight risk, since they had such difficulty getting him into the country.

I'm surprised eBay's term of service don't have something that would prevent suing over feedback.

Well the entire style of WordPress uses the global namespace for everything so you do have to get over that shock. But, once you do there's a kinda simplicity to the whole thing. That's my impression anyway.

I think I tend to be rather obsessive about answering, replying and the occasional PR I tend to be really excited about. However I almost always want to tweak the PRs and I don't always have time. I have been guilty of letting some go for

I actually find Wordpress to be much lighter and cleaner than many other CMS systems. It's impressive to me that the code is relatively consistent despite going through years of iterations. I also find the plugin mechanics of Wordpress to

Just curious why you've found that people don't like rackspace? We've used them for a while without any major complaints.

You could just write that you created a music sharing solution over SSH, or whatever description is best. Then leave out the part about circumventing the school security ;-)

Just a suggestion -perhaps feature other projects on your résumé besides hacking your school network. Many companies may not appreciate hacking their network, movie or music pirating. Even though it may have been a creative solution, it mi

I think it's fine to have a promotion and do everything possible to get users to experience and hopefully buy your product (I would not be paying my own mortgage otherwise). But I disagree with the "free forever" term in this case. This i

If the rip-off company is hot-linking images or CSS files then it gives keen.io an excellent opportunity to mess with them. Keen.io just has to copy the files to a new folder, update their HTML - then start having fun with the old images.

I have to plead ignorance about other countries. But in the US, I haven't really encountered too many developers who I sensed projecting superiority for the sake of job security. What I mean is that my impression is that they truly do bel
