It seems like the obvious thing to do when you first start advertising - to bid on your own company name. But the money is probably not wisely spent when you wind up being the #1 natural listing anyway. For eBay, Walgreens, Amazon, etc to

Every time I click on a WebGL demo I think to myself... here comes my CPU fan and my lap is about to get hot! Seriously though, this demo makes me realize how much programming knowledge I lack. It it totally fascinating. Where would be a

It could also be that people who are smart (or not) in one area simply fail to notice or recognize other smart people.

I think it's commendable every time Facebook has pushed through a major re-design like this. They have a about the largest group of change-averse users of any site. Countdown to all of the complaining and petitions that will happen once p

I can see the point only so far as disabling the keys temporarily in order to force yourself to learn and use some of the more powerful key combinations. But, I had to deal with hjkl on dumb terminals either without arrows, or with arrows t

Well you should certainly look for a team that gives you a good impression with their dev process. But, things are not always perfect, even on great teams. Not saying its normal to destroy your production database! But even in good shops

My hypothesis is that it's a game company and all of the focus was on the game code. The lowly job of maintaining the state server was punted off to the "junior dev" just out of school. Nobody was paying attention. It was something that

The article actually makes a lot of sense. In the case of an organization that wasn't set up properly for remote working and then grew out of control for many years - there's probably a lot of people who simply aren't contributing. It sav

One thing may be possible - that they actually took a look at who worked remotely and who worked on site. From that they decided that the 100% remote workers were not producing as well, or were acceptable to lose. It could be that Yahoo di

I don't really know much about the coffeescript community, although being totally honest, as a detached observer I do get a whiff of a "chip on the shoulder" kinda attitude. Perhaps no different from any language though. I use Backbone.js

That's a valid point. Though I wonder if it really is a step in that direction, or if it will only be relevant for languages that compile down to Javascript?

I know this is probably hugely unpopular here, but I really wish coffeescript would go away, but perhaps some of it's best features get integrated into the next version if JavaScript.

I would like to see otherwise, but SourceForge looks like it could be the MySpace of code repositories. I used SourceForge Google Code for several projects and it just seemed like everybody abandoned ship for GitHub.

Sencha and jquery mobile have slightly different techniques. With Jquery your app is an HTML page with your own markup which is then styled and functionality is added to your elements by the framework. I find it more designer-oriented comp

I agree but perhaps stupid is not the right word. The airline staff, especially low level, are not trusted or trained to think or apply their own reason. They're trained to be on constant high-alert and report anything that smells even re

Aha, when I first posted my comment a few days ago the site didn't seem to have that feature of putting the hex colors in the URL. It's perfect now, you can share links. Exactly what I wanted!

I think you are right, but it probably won't be a company that's essentially copying whatever every current "cool" startup is doing but putting an "r" on the end of their company name. It'll be people who truly innovate.

you might need to include a training level or some kind of hint because, although I can see that doing things in different order make a difference, there's no visual clues and I'm not even close to getting to the top of level 1.

I'm glad somebody here posted the link to the docs page because the framework looks good. But calling people lazy - that's the type of attitude when you ask for user feedback and then argue with them that they're wrong. Look at the home pag
