Paul was a titan of the firearms and self defense community on YouTube. I personally learned a lot from him and always found his videos fascinating. You could feel his love of the hobby. Really sad to see he's gone. It takes a person w

It's not really sharpness - you get weird artifacts since it's combining multiple (slightly different) captures to create one big one. Some other cameras reportedly have better merging algorithms that make them more capable of han

I have an R5.1 and I have used the Pixel Shift mode maybe twice, just to see what it did. Like most cameras with this capability the scene has to be completely still, which is very rare for the type of photography I do (even architecture of

I moved entirely to Linux (Ubuntu) for my personal desktop usage (almost entirely gaming) around the middle of last year[1], and it's been wonderful. This year I switched my wife's desktop gaming PC to Ubuntu as well and she'

The really invasive kernel level ones don't and probably will never work, but there's a chunk of them that do. One of the big ones, Easy Anti Cheat, mostly works[1]. I, too, consider it a benefit of gaming on Linux. [1]: https:&#

I enjoyed it for a time. It's a particularly well executed blend of co-op and third person shooting, like the Starship Troopers game I've wanted for a while. Amusingly, there was an officially licensed Troopers game that came out

I won't tell you there aren't stumbling blocks and impedence mismatches but most of them are relatively minor syntactical things. The faux-AST in my head gets typed out in the wrong format and I have to backspace and correct it (t
