The question is, do you want freedom or do you want market popularity? Because as you said you can get Pixel and use Graphene or Lineage and do whatever you want. But if you want market popularity then that is something that is not the case

It's a weird knee-jerk reaction from some people to claim to sideloading = malware. Especially on the Apple side. It's like they saw Android malware clickbait headlines and just ran with it for decades.

If I remember correctly they have had a translation layer for android apps since they launched. But it's similar to what Apple has done with Rosetta 2 where it getting phased out for native apps only.

These are all relatively simple TO YOU. You are not everyone though. Some people lack the mobility, strength or even time to do these things. Some people just don't want to get dirty working on their car. Some people don't have th

You can easily turn the "ads" off though. The only true ad are the start menu ones which is a single toggle in Settings. I have much bigger issues with setup time. I just got a Windows laptop and it took (not exaggerating) 3 hours

I wouldn't call 6 years a long time for support. Imagine if Microsoft announced that any software older than 2020 will not longer work. Not be out of support or not get any more updates, just become not runnable. The problem I have wit

Considering I can find plenty of nonstandard Windows 11 install guides on youtube I don't think this guys video was taken down for that reason. Most likely hit with automated moderating and he probably said "kill" in the vide

I think this assumes a scenario where the past ceases to exist. However democratization and transitions back to democracy are built upon on taking the past and building it better. Brazil and Chile did not christine a state of no citizens wh

Recall IS opt-in. Personally I don't get the big deal. Opt out stuff is just a simple toggle. If they were shoving down everyone's throat you wouldn't be able to opt out of it. Like ads on Google Discover feed.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Recall was problematic because of the lack of information provided when they announced it. How would it handle sensitive details like banking account pages. Can developers opt out for best security prac

As much as a like to fantasize how a Cincinnatus-esque figure could emerge to fix things, the unfortunate truth is that many times the system needs to be rebuilt to secure balance again. It needs to be equal measure of the government protec

I mean, isn't that the point of comments? I have a hard time believing a video can have high likes and not a single higher up comment countering it. At least in a realistic example like household repair or something. I also tend to ski

That's why I haven't dipped into foldables. Long term ownership seems like such a gamble. The risks are getting lower but still not at a level I think justifies spending that much at once or over a couple years.
