One of my e-mails was in three breaches: Adobe, Money Bookers, vBulletin, and my Gmail was in only one breach: Boxee forums. I have been receiving a lot of spam lately on my Gmail, and it's not listed anywhere online. So it must have c

Printers (for consumers) need development. They still function like the old days with all the bad stuff comes with that. I personally just have a B&W Dell laserprinter that cost almost nothing. It's fast, prints everytime, and one

Reminds me of the danish site MyMusic.dk that was founded in 1998, and became the go-to site of danish underground artists. In 2010 it just disappeared from the web, and 12 years of music from 16.000 danish artists were just _gone_. It reap

I think it's a management problem. I agree that the software quality have been declining the past years. Snow Leopard is probably the most stable OS I've ever used, and since then, the OS have become bloated IMO. However, the majo

While these designs looks good, I would absolutely not use any of them, as the _usability_ is non-existing. This also describes well why the designs doesn't follow Apple's HIG.

Devastating news this morning. David Bowie is a legend. Was raised with his music. Even named my dog Ziggy after him. His memory will live on with his music. RIP David.

You really need to look on the security perspective to harden it. When it's marketed with security in mind. And there's so many things wrong with the PHP syntax etc. as well as you have committed the entire Composer vendor/ f

Fun little tool. Could maybe find it handy. But STOP overriding scroll. It's annoying. Even if it's to make a "smooth" scroll: don't do it. Atleast detect that I'm using a Mac where it's already butter smo

I just don't think the performance is good enough for pure web hosting. Much slower/$ than Linode and DO. Their uptime and infrastructure is great, but you're totally on your own (e.g. if you're getting DDoS'ed). Al

That's it. I'm done with Linode. I will be keeping one server on Linode, but my new startup where I need several load balancers, Web servers, DB replication will be hosted elsewhere. Do you guys know any good providers? Not AWS.

That's exactly what the reaction the attackers want. However, what are the alternatives? Linode have been dead stable for me the past many years, and delivers what they promise in a transparent way. No overselling of servers. No sudden

Pluralsight, while not free, has transcripts for most of their courses. So you can essentially search what is said in the videos, and see what you miss if you forward.

That being said, I love Linode, and will not use any other primary provider for my servers. They have been dead stable the past years before this happened, and never had any bottlenecks (e.g. overselling servers like other providers). And I

How do you guys re-route traffic for your load balancer to another in another data center? If you change your DNS record it would take x time before it has propagated. Say I have one server setup on Linode London and one duplicated on DO Am

My London Linodes' stats from the past 7 days: 40 outages. 6h25m downtime. What upsets me the most is that customers haven't heard a single word from Linode. If you weren't watching their status page (and have server monitori

Linode is _still_ hit by DoS. They currently have a "Major Outage" in the London DC. Seems like there are issues in almost all DC's. Unbelievable they can't get that DoS stopped! My server have had 19 outages the past 7
