"I don't see inclusion of 4G on any tablet devices as a plus." For you. For people like me, it IS a plus. That's why Apple makes two versions of the iPad. Not to mention tethering drains the battery.

Not sure why they didn't include the option of 4G as being an advantage of those Apple devices. The size advantage of the Nexus 7 is great for mobility (honestly dislike carrying an iPad in my bag) but the majority of areas are not going to

I'm sorry for your loss. Losing two parents so close to one another must've been very difficult.

In terms of race, you have your choice of white women PLUS higher probability of success with other races (based on inter-racial marriages rates, OKCupid stats). Then with height, you are about average, which is a good thing. You have your

Beautiful design. I like how it focuses on the imagery (as it should) and once again great typography.

Eh, sort of. I'd be interested to know your race and your height. At the end of the day, women still have deal breakers regardless of your personality, boldness, income, skills, etc. The reason why I think women have it easier is that they

Where is the fine line between coding tests and spec work? I'm not a programmer, but I've seen startups co-founded by engineers try hiring designers in a similar fashion to I assume programmers as they test designers with a variety of unpai

Doesn't SF's risk of liquefaction plus the current soft soils around the city make it potentially quite dangerous to build taller buildings? http://earthquake.usgs.gov/regional/nca/soiltype/map/ http://thefrontsteps.com/2010/11/22/san-fr

I liked what they did before: have two options for people. The slightly bigger option with customization (MacBook Pro, Mac Pro) and the streamlined clean option for those who don't want to fiddle with anything (MacBook Air, iMac, Mac Mini).

Well technically, you can upgrade the SSD by buying one specific to the MacBook Pro, as OWC has done for the MacBook Air.

Well I'm still using an early-2008 white Macbook for Photoshop/Illustrator/Lightroom/browsing/coding without too much of a hiccup. Considering that the MBP Retina can also play Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 comfortably, I could see myself using

TV news still doesn't suck. Reuters, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, Guardian, BBC, CBC, France24, AP... there's a plethora of choices online.

I'm a little skeptical. Generational revisions (Retina, default-SSD) like these usually come with a higher cost. In two years, the architecture will be through another full cycle (Haswell in 2013, Broadwell 2014). On top of that, both SSD's

In this case though, there are few alternatives. Even if the RAM upgrade was $400, I'd still buy it because the RAM is soldered and so I wouldn't be able to upgrade it myself.

I doubt that there'd be many buyers for this Retina Model that'd only take a $200 discount. Near maxed out (16 GB, 512 GB, 2.6) would be $3000+ (taxes). Even if you dropped it into the high $2k, that's a lot to pay for a used computer, espe

During these four years, I have been able to: replace the keyboard (after I had improperly cleaned it), replace the battery, upgrade the RAM, and upgrade the HDD. I can give it to a family member as a hand-me-down as it not only wasn't that

Pretty sure you CAN replace the SSD later on, not unlike the MacBook Air models. You just need to purchase the correct SSD and connector for the model. The RAM though, you're out of luck. An extra $200 on the build for 16gb is a bit of a ri

If this is like the Air (which I'm waiting for the teardown), then I'm not sure how normal people are supposed to upgrade the memory as it's soldered, while the hard drive is upgradeable (though probably not feasible for non-techies unaccus

Indeed. I think most pro's who would need a computer like this would want to get the 512GB option on the laptop just to secure themselves over the next few years, specifically because one can't upgrade the internal hard drive themselves lik
