All consumers are publishers now, so there appears to be room for a phase transition. We collectively have a choice, like two Nash equilibria. IP vs Free. I imagine we would save a lot of man-hours from defining and fighting man-made statut

Oh I get it -- you're trying to show that Goedel's Incompleteness Theorem applies to humans. Haha. * All consistent axiomatic formulations of semantic arguments include self-unaware bigotry. You are brilliant, sir.

The arguments you use against CoffeeScript are actually the reasons why I love CoffeeScript and the fat arrow. To see what scope the fat arrow is bound to, all you need to do is scan up the parent scope in the file and look for a thin arrow

By 'right of repurchase', are you referring to the right of the company to purchase your vested shares, should you choose to sell them? If so, it's not related to this issue.

That's true, but the alternative that we're already familiar with is simply firing the employee, which is not any better. If we're OK with being fired, shouldn't we be OK with this?

I'm talking about cornering markets. The money received for land sold can be can still sucked out of the economy. It is possible for one entity to own all land.

All true, but then the problem is how the distribute the money being printed. Giving everyone X dollars seems more fair than what the Fed is currently doing, but you may disagree. Also, investing is not the same as spending. Investing, then

No, the text in that link is also flawed. You're assuming that owners of efficient machines actually spend their money. What if they don't? What if they invest their money in privatized land, IP patents, TBonds, cornering the food futures m

Does a URL shortener violate HTTP when it offers analytics on GET links to the public? I think the OP should understand that HTTP is a leaky abstraction. GET requests always have some side effect, either on the server end or the client end.

it looks like all the magic happens with the U combinator, where "recursion" is avoided by finding F = f(f), and passing f as a parameter such that F can be reconstructed. which still smells like recursion, a type of recursion where the rec
