I've made a some progress in this. PEG didn't quite cut it for left-recursion so I created a new parser. https://github.com/jaekwon/joeson The grammar for CoffeeScript is getting there -- enough to parse the project files at least. https

The article AFAIK states little about distortions introduced in remixes & samples. I would expect certain high frequency samples, when mixed together to overlap in time, would introduce moire artifacts (beats).

I know of two others in SF who are interested in this course. I'm sure there are more out there. If you're near the bay area and want to connect to form study groups, holler or email me at jkwon.work@gmail.com.

Is this some documented "official" purpose of a patent? Either way, I have a hard time believing that this is a bigger problem than managing a patent system per se. Also, there are probably much better ways to protect secrets systematically

If it's so hard, do you really need a monopoly enforced by statute? The harder it is, the more natural temporary monopoly you get until others start copying you. I say, nothing is worth infringing upon a creator's right to create. Please co

I agree with you, but I'm suggesting that on the other end of the axis, away from empirical observation, is our ability to use information to affect destiny and cosmology in a grand (or not so grand) scale. I doubt that reality exists indep

I could ask you what matter is, what an atom is, or what space / time are, and I wouldn't be satisfied with your definition of matter -- no matter what. I just assume that our universe is running in a Turing machine, and that all laws are d

Where is your case? Your "creators" aren't helping the very real scarcity problem that you refer to. My case is based on simple mathematics. By adopting a radically simple and natural law, (that information should not be regulated at the fe

Do you ever wonder why law is so complicated? Maybe it's because the people who make them have a vested interest in complicating matters such that lawyers become necessary. The same logic that you are advocating is what is necessitating the

Yes, they are at a disadvantage, but they would still be at a local and global advantage. Local because they are first to put the innovation out, and they will naturally gain attention. Global because this system lifts everybody up overall.

I don't think you can define "copying" clearly for this purpose. Is it still copying if a person is wedged in the replication loop? I think you're going to try to divide my hypothetical into two scenarios, and it's not going to be clear cut

Let's be rational. Lets say that it is instantaneous and free to copy 37Signal's design, whereas to recreate it from scratch it costs the labor of a designer X units of dollar-time. For the sake of simplicity lets say that Curebit and 37Sig
