Not to start a tangent, but the problem here has less to do with WFH vs. RTO (I’ve been 100% WFH for 10 years, FWIW), and more to do with meetings. People that have calendars packed with meetings will have a hard time with bio breaks regar

I see what you’re saying, and partially agree. However, FM synth on PC sound cards, IMO, sounded pretty awful. I would prefer 8-bit NES synth over that of PC synth. E.g. while I do have some nostalgia from the Canon.mid file, I still though

I think things changed a bit with MIDI with the introduction of Soundfonts, and even more with dedicated MIDI sound cards. I bought a Roland SCC-1 [1], and fell in love with MIDI. It was basically a CM-300 in a PCI card. I could program mus

I’ve always been a music > lyrics person. I often prefer instrumental music, as it gets the singing/lyrics out of the way of the music. Or I’ll listen to music in another language (that I don’t speak/understand), since it liter

I would be interested in something similar, but for any crops, or even be able to filter by crop type. Or maybe there is a map/list of each zone by state (e.g. commercial, industrial, government, residential, farm, etc.).

Without a doubt. I’ve played on a grand and upright, but I’d still call myself just barely above beginner. But I do have a good ear for appreciating music and acoustics, and agree that they’re definitely much better. But it’s crazy the prog

I guess I feel that the iPhone was the innovator for a lot of things that are in use today, ultimately leading to the cultural fall. For sure, today the iPhone is no more to blame than other smartphones. But the iPhone lead the charge, IMO.

You’re talking about whether an iPad can accurately reproduce the quality of the original tools. While I would certainly agree, like it or not, many of these things are being replaced by iPads/iPhones and other smart devices. Many peop

Maybe you’re younger than I am, but I definitely feel like the introduction of the smart phone — and the iPhone on particular — was when things started to decline steeply.

No reason to downvote someone for asking for a source (before one was given). A source is helpful context for claims like this, and the person that responded with one may not otherwise have had it not been questioned.

I agree, but I think this is a short term problem. I think battery tech is improving, and range has been improving with each generation it seems. I think it’s just a matter of time before EV range well exceeds range of ICE vehicles. But tha

I’m not sure if it’s wise for Tesla to play chicken with the government. It hasn’t had the best track record with policies around new technology. If they’re betting on the government to pick up the torch and carry it forward, they better be

If you like absurd questions like this with real scientific responses, you might enjoy the “What If?” books [1] by Randall Munroe (creator of xkcd). They are full of questions like this, often with a humorous spin. Entertaining and educatio

The professor in the video is quite wholesome. Seems to love nature and has a genuinely positive attitude. And also has me convinced that getting spraying in the face with cicada pee is no big deal.
